I have had a productive day at work today, during which I wrote what I consider to be a reasonably complex SQL query for one of our directors in a quite short space of time, I earned £20 after work getting someone's ADSL up and running, I enjoyed swimming (but it was hard) and I have just treated myself to a doner meat and chips.

Today is good.

My current (old) job is working for a big newspaper company in a general IT support role. But my new job is a much more senior position with one of the very big banks. Really felt stuck in a rut here, so well chuffed.

Making me smile today, is the fact I got to travel extra stops on the train today for nothing ... I think this is karma. I sat at the railway station at lunchtime, listening to a young girl's problems. She told me she is in care. Dunno why she approached me, but there you go. I also fed the pigeons at the railway station. I gave them cheese pieces. It takes pigeons a while to eat cheese.

I was NOT. I offered the extra cash, the ticket inspector gave me a wink, made a zipping motion across his mouth. In other words, keep it quiet, and I saved money! woo hoo.
