I've been following the hype around this film for a while, and I have to admit I'm really looking forward to seeing it. Its basically a monster movie in New York, only told via a home movie (Think 'Blair Witch' meets 'War of the Worlds'). The 'home video' feel to it gives it a real atmospheric edge, the story being they find this camera in the 'cloverfield' site (formally Central Park) and it shows a group of teenagers at a party when the story unfolds. Even the trailer looks freaky - http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount ... rge_2.html
I think the real winner with this film is that they have released absolutely no information about the actual monster, other than its the size of a sky scraper and it came from the sea (as the poster hints). There are hint websites up with clues about the story arcs and the characters in it, and a hint of how the monster 'woke', but the only pictures of the monster you can find are 'fan art'.
I can't remember the last time i was this excited about seeing a film. (Princess Diaries 2 doesn't count).
