How do you seem to know so much about Topher if you have never visited here before?

First Rule of joining an internet chat room ... look at what has gone before.
Second Rule ..... Read people's signatures.
Third Rule ..... If engaging with them read their profile.
Fourth Rule .... If their posting seems immature and you know the schools are on holiday it is safe to assume they are probably bored with doing their homework and are surfing looking to try their wings against the big boys.
Simple when you know how.

And I can see that even in Milton Keynes they can work that out.

No, it generally picks up a bit later on in the day. I suppose that people are too busy listening to the show to come on here and 'chat'.

Nice to meet you Sotonian, although your style is familiar, is this a new name for an old member I wonder? For the record, I personally think you made a bit of a tit of yourself yesterday (my opinion to which, I am sure you will agree, I am entitled), although I understand what you were getting at in the first place - but you seem erudite, intelligent, articulate and up for a barney, so I for one will enjoy having you around here once you stop patronising everyone indiscriminately, which I'm sure you will if you stay.

Liar!

As a daughter of a disabled mother, wife of a disabled man and friend to at least 5 people in wheelchairs I think you are wrong in your assumption that people will be offended by Chris saying "Everyone can do it" My friend who has MS is doing the mile "run" in his wheelchair! We are constantly told not to discriminate either in a positive or negative way against disabled people and that all people should be treated as equals (something I completely agree with) however your rant on here appears to be suggesting that we discriminate against people with motor disabilities by telling them that they can't do this "run" for charity. In what way do you believe your suggestion not to be insensitive to the feelings of disabled people?

Liar is a strong word to use and I would be entitled to demand an apology but from such an obviously over emotional poster I doubt that I would get one.
I have had my say and moved on. How can you say that is a lie? It is you and others who are now continuing the argument. Disablity by the way, does not consist only of motor diabilities. If the invitation to join in had been better phrased I would not have had a problem with it. Don't assume you have the right to know everything about disabilities which come in many forms. Try working with some of the people I have met and then you might understand my point .... but as I say we (or at least I) have moved on from there. Why do you find it so hard?
You ask in what way do I "believe that my suggestion not to be insensitive to the feelings of disabled people?". I don't but I do believe that, with thought, the suggestion made in Mr Moyles name could and should have been better phrased. As for "Even your Nan could do it" that is pretty patronising don't you think? What about those who recently suffered the death of their "Nan"? Like I say the piece to which Moyls has allowed his name to be used is insenstitive to the feelings of others through plain thoughtlessness.
Sorry but that is the charge I made and nothing that has been said in defence has altered the fact that the phrasing was insensitive and thoughtless to others.
Live with it and move on.

I'm sure you meant to put 'in my opinion' in their somewhere.

It's not a fact, it is, as you've been quite insistent about, your opinion.

Enlightening.

Sotonian (I keep wanting to call you Soterian, but I'm not sure why.....), I don't want to continue the argument, and I see no reason why you would. So could I ask if you might consider posting in some of the other sections, so we can talk about other things too? Ta.

No I have not posted here under any other name. I have, as previously confessed, never listened to "The Show" and I do not expect to in the future but somebody gave me the Moyles books and I was intriqued enough to see what was on the net so have been "lurking" for a while, reading the odd thread here and there when they looked interesting but then I read something that I felt needed an input so I joined. Clearly the input was not welcomed by many but I'll not let that put me off. Oh and I only patronise those that deserve it .... never indiscriminately. :D
Now I really must stop and do some work. Some of us do not enjoy the privilege of half term or bosses who allow abuse of the company internet connections. Self employment does demand time and effort.
BTW my head is getting better. 8)

Thing is, since it's a fan site (and yes, I said earlier that Moyles thinks we hate him, but it's more of a running gag than fact) chances are we would never agree with you. Although as you and others have said, you are entitled to your opinion and others are entitled to theirs. With a bit of luck, everyone can just agree to disagree on this topic and move swiftly on.

You should try listening to 'The Show' sometime, it's actually quite good.

Indiscriminate patronisation is important on here though. If you don't patronise some people, they feel left out.

Sweetie, have you stopped taking the HRT again, bless you, I know the mustache is work, but it's very you, keep it up.

:D (just in case you didn't know that was a joke in your enlightened state of emotional turmoil.
