Cat's scheduled for surgery this afternoon (Friday). She's not in pain this morning which suggests the surgery will be straightforward, and keyholey.

S4B, if a gallstone gets stuck in the bile duct, it can pass into the stomach, or sometimes back into the gall bladder (this is rare). It sounds like this is what has happened to Cat, but there are still lots more gallstones in there all waiting to get stuck, and probably more being made all the time too, so thats why the whole shebang needs to come out. Passing a kidney stone is a whole different kind of experience, as anyone with a rudimentary grasp of anatomy can probably imagine.

Spoke to Cat last night and again this morning - she's going home today, so will be around soon I expect.
