How close are you in reality to your "on-line persona"? Do you keep it very real, or is the reality quite, quite different?

I'm more serious and quieter ( believe it, or not ) in reality, but this place is good for expressing my lighter side.

So? What about you? Are you more confident? Less confident? More funny? Less funny? Just the same?

I'd like to think I am just the same, but the chances I am perceived differently on here that I would be in the real world.

I am alot more sarcastic in real life. Also i ca pick up on anything people say in real life, well, on here i could aswell but there's "certain people" on here that would probably have a go at me etc.

I'm different around all types of other people (is that just me?). Like when i'm with my girlfriend i feel like i'm myself; i'm chatty, i joke, etc. Where as when i'm with reletives i'm quiet and i obviosuly don't make the same toilet jokes that i do with my girlfriend infront of my nan, and when I'm at work i'm alot quieter as well.

I guess i chat here like i do when i'm around friends.

I perosnally think that because we feel more confident behind a computer screen we feel we can be ourselves... and that we have to option to be "away" or if anything log off... something we can't do in life.

I've always thought the opposite.

It's like those guys who say they have a big schlong - they normally have to make it sound bigger than it is. Those of us that actually HAVE larger equipment just stay quiet about it. And feel smug.

You don't want strangers to get a bad impression of you, you feel it's more important for you to say the 'right' thing here always, whereas with mates they already know you and you can get away with saying the odd dodgy thing.

Is my theory anyway.
