Please remember Mother's Day = March 2nd. Have any of you bought anything special for her yet?

Today, I got my mum a funny card of a mouse, with a big pink nose, holding a banner... and lots of liquorice.

Viv, every other time you've mentioned your mum on these boards it has been to moan about her or say how you don't get on with her - so why? Unless she hates liquorice of course.

why = because it's mother's day.

So you pretend to like your mother because it's mother's day? Or on Mother's Day somehow you are miraculously transformed from being annoyed by her and disliking her to appreciating her finding her pleasant? I still don't understand. I don't do "Hallmark Holidays" at all, but why you would buy gifts for someone you don't appear to like just because Clinton's Cards says you have to is beyond me. But each to their own.

I don't "pretend" anything.. my mother will always be my mother, good & bad times... and at this point, I'm discussing this no further.

I'm with Yuds on this, i don't hugely talk to my mum due to things that happened a couple of years ago, and i won't pretend everything is ok just because it's mothers day.

If i'm completely honest, my gf mum has been more of a mum to me than my mum and will be getting her a mini pressie.

Another commercialised crap thing! I will still go along with it though. Usual comedy card which she likes, then whatever she answers with when i ask what she wants.

I like what we do at our church for Mothering Sunday. Some of the people who have nice gardens pick loads of stuff and a group of them make loads of little posies. During church, everyone can take one to give to their mum - it's primarily for the kids, but not exclusively. It's a gesture, no more, but it marks the day really nicely I think.

I haven't bought my mum anything yet. I thought some CDs this time maybe, but i have to check what she already has first. My housemate doesn't speak to his own mum so I don't like to bring it up too much cos I don't wanna upset him.

I have no money for mothers day but probably a cheap card, clean the house and cook a meal.

I used to have to make those posies at our church! Bah the life of a Vicar's daughter

We have a group of girlies who do it I believe.

I was one of the group of girlies! I never wanted to be though, used to insist I was a tomboy! How times change.
