I can't sleep. Been having hassle for ages. Any ideas? Although anyone around at the minute is probably suffering from the same problem so I'll wait until tomorrow morning to get help from you people who do sleep.

I never seem to sleep until 2 or 3 in the morning. 1am is an early night for me now. I dont know why that is the case but it just seems to be how it is. Not good when I have morning lectures every day of the week!

S4 take a hot bath with lavender oil in it.
Geek, you have to be up early for your lectures. Stop piddling about online.

Night Saviour.

And in danger of looking like the idiot newbie can you edit posts after you post them? If so how? :?

Only in the General section. Not in Ramble. It makes you stop, think & proofread before you hit "submit"

Oh ok thank you Sunny. I thought I was just being very dense and missing a totally obvious way of editing posts. Are you always up this late?

Sunny's not up late she's in the States - it's still early there. Lavender oil bath didn't work Sunny, tried that earlier!

It's only 6:23 in the evening here and no, you're not being dense, geek. I like your avatar, by the way.
S4 I'm sorry. Try some deep breathing exercises. It oxygenates your blood and helps relieve stress.

Baggie, your s4b-related hyper-emetic tendancies seem to be getting worse.

I don't get this you know.

S4 you drink 4 bottles of red and you are up at 3 O'clock complaining you can't sleep ?

You can type in joined up sensible words too, even after 4 bottles of wine. After 2 I loose the ability to be able to make value judgments, and wake up thinking ow shit I wish I hadn't said that !

Amazing, absolutely amazing.

I find fresh air helps me sleep, spend 5 or six hours out in the Garden. Yawn City.

I have been sleeping a bit better (at the weekend anyway) since I started spending most of my weekends digging my new allotment. It's not just that it makes you tired physically, there genuinely is something about being outdoors and doing something active which is chemically good for you, I'm totally convinced of it.

And alcohol always makes me wakeful. I can usually fall asleep ok after a skinful, but an hour later I'm wide awake and have no chance of getting back to sleep. I've stopped drinking recently though, so that's not the casue of my current sleep issues.

Boboff I drank the wine on Saturday night not Sunday!

Tried them, they get me to sleep but then I wake up about 30 mins later feeling like crap!

He just hates me Yuds, I've tried hard to get him to like me but I guess it's just one of those things. Meh I can live with it.

Ahh see I'd guessed it would be the stress and depression thing. I know exactly what's causing that! I think I should just ask someone to come and hit me with a heavy implement every night, that might help.

Form an orderly queue won't you?

S4B, assuming you've tried the obvious things like cutting out alcohol/caffeine and taking a warm bath, I've heard of people getting very good results with hypnotherapy tapes - might be worth a try. I tend to think pills are a bad idea cos you'll just get imcreasingly dependent on them and then your sleep pattern will get progressively worse.

massive bump : i'm doing a study on people who stay up quite late, not really doing anything...for no reason. sort of a self inflicted insomnia .

but i have a questionnaire that i'd love for anyone who affiliates themselves with the aforementioned situation to fill out!

thanks in advance :)
