ANOTHER great result for the mighty zider heads! 1-1 away at Charlton, and could and shouldve won it. 3 points clear at the top of the league. Great atmosphere in the away end with about 1,000 city fans all singing for the whole game. Still got a banging headache from it all!

all the teams that have a chance of coming up are gonna strugle so bad next season in the prem. for me only charlton have the money and reputation to attract pkayers anywhere near the quality needed to survive.

After their performance last night?! You gotta kidding me. They'll be lucky to finish in the top 6 playing like that. Especially the 2nd half.

I don't think Quincy was predicting they will go up; I think he was saying that of the teams that have a chance of going up, only Charlton are capable of getting the players they need to stay up.

Sounded like it to me. Either way, on last night's performance they wont go up.

Read it again.. tell you what, to make it easier, I'll break it down into manageable chunks for you:

Quincy wrote:all the teams that have a chance of coming up are gonna strugle so bad next season in the prem.

So, Quincy thinks that every team that can get promoted into the Premier League next season will struggle to stay there.

Quincy wrote:for me only charlton have the money and reputation to attract pkayers anywhere near the quality needed to survive.

He then goes on to say that of those teams that can get promoted, only Charlton have the wealth (that's money) and reputation (i.e., people hold them in high esteem and would want to play for them) to attract the players they need in order to stay up (not get relegated again after one season).

I took teams that can get promoted to mean teams that still have a mathematical chance of going up. That means that how they played last night is irrelevant, unless it was a contributing factor to them no longer being capable of getting promoted, which I believe they still can do mathematically.

yes at the moment charlton dont look that great but they are still in with a shout of getting up via the play offs, and they have just got leroy lita on loan who will notch at championship level no doubt.

Through the play offs theyve got a good chance, but again, they will have to up their performances n the last 10 games. Especially with a game against West Brom coming up. Leroy Lita is a good signing, IF he doesnt try to do it all on his own and doesnt get greedy.

Topher - don't patronise me, i knew exactly what he meant!

You clearly didn't, which was indicated by this:

we have had so many decisions go our way lately. It's great and we seem to be so lucky. An amazing escape in the fifth round where we also didn't deserve to win and now today. Who cares though? It be just our luck though to beat man u then get hammered by Cardiff in the semi's. It's like '92 all over again for me. Butterflies in my stomach and all.

Oh and Quincy is dead right about Taylor and O'neil. I still say Taylor for England! (Matt, not Graham)

Come on Cardiff!

Great weekend for Football! Well Done Porstmouth, Barnsley and Cardiff (both through gritted teeth!), And especially well done West Brom. 5-1 against R*vers on their own cabbage patch! Good old Flapper Phillips back to his usual self with the first goal!

Onto City, 0-0 away at Leicester which keeps us top of the league by 3 points from the very lucky, and cheating Sjoke! How the hell we got a point god only knows. Leicester couldve scored 5 or 6 if it wasnt for Basso. But we also hit the inside of both posts and the underside of the bar with the ball bouncing right on the line. Bring on Watford tomorrow night! 3 points from that and we will be going up!

I couldnt care less if we are mate. Being in the best league in the world, playing against the best players of the world week in, week out, and getting the parachute payments will be worth it! Going to grounds like Old Trafford, Emirates, Anfield (again), Stamford Bridge (again), White Hart Lane, and the others will be terrific.

Better to be Bristol City struggling as predicted than Liverpool underachieving yet again, eh?

I wouldnt swap City for any other team, even if we were bottom of the football league, facing relegation to the conference. City goes back about 5 generations in my family, and my dad's dad was once offered a professional contract at City.

Spurs already have some silverware (of sorts) this season. Which is more than Liverpool will have in a few weeks time I reckon.

Especially after Inter win tomorrow night and send Liverpool crashing out of Europe. Everton to finish 4th this season.

I think 4th spot is going to be tight, but I hope Everton make it. And as for Internazionale - they can definitely do it, I'd like to see them lift the trophy actually (always assuming that United don't, which I dare not hope for.....).

I think it will be Chelsea or Arsenal that will win it personally. I'm hoping Chelsea though.
