Should you be drinking with your medication? I don't mean to sound like anyone's mum, but I understand alcohol is not advisable with the pills you are on, and I worry about you. Regarding the rumour, I'm sure it will all blow over. A person is only ever briefly gossiped about, before something new comes up!! :-)

Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once (well, maybe) - Viv is absolutely right.

Don't try and drink your problems away, you end up still depressed and an Alcoholic ! Stop while you still can without a load of aggravation, or worse!!!!!

I agree with Viv too ! If only she had been around a few years ago !

Whoa! I agree with Viv, too. I must say, I like this new sesnible Viv, but I don't know if it will last.

As for lies in the workplace, they unfortunate to deal with but hopefully the people who matter will recognize them as lies and ignore the complaint. It's best not to bring attention to the liar or the rumour.

I'm just having a drink. It doesn't involve getting drunk. Getting drunk is different to just having a drink.

Yes, but feeling drunk is a result of having drinks.
Feeling drunk is different to 'drinking your problems away'.

"Having drinks" is also not the same as having a drink. But at the end of the day, all of them are good from time to time!

I was not intentionally getting drunk! Nothing wrong with getting drunk now and again!

Depends on how bad the hangover the next day is.

I think the issue is how soon and frequent the "again" is. That was always my problem.

Once or twice (at a maximum) a month. I don't think that constitutes alcoholism. I go weeks without a drink.

Shush! Me too but if I say that they'll accuse me of being an alcoholic!

Think of it this way, if they are lying and spreading shit about you, then they are ignoring other people, thus making you more significant than other people they could talk about. That's how i always look at it.

And to answer the question, yes, ive once had a vicious rumour, which was also a blatant lie, spread about me, twice!

Was that the one with the sheep and the 60 year old plumber called Phil? And I heard it was three times, not twice?!

I'd just like to add that I am a lightweight so get drunk and pass out waaay to easily..

Also to point out to Spaceboy that Libel is written and Slander is spoken so for S4B to sue him for libel means he would have had to have written these things whereas he apparently just spoke about them.

The difference is important.

I thought it was the law that students weren't allowed to let their blood alcohol content drop below 0.11.
