After listening to Zane's shows last week, it got me thinking. There are a load of 'classic albums' out there that, surveys say, a large percentage of music listens own or are familier with, Like Beatles - Sgt Pepper, Nevermind - Nirvana, or Bat out of Hell - Meat loaf. So, the question is -

Are there any albums you'd recommend that you think are underrated or are not mentioned very often?

I love 'Angel Dust' by Faith no More. Amazing rock/rap hybrid album that's really funky and fresh. I could listen to it over and over again in one sitting. Also -'Tails by Lisa Loeb and the nine stories. Such a beautiful, laid back and happy album. I think it's more popular in the states, but you should give it a listen.

Here are a few - I can't be bothered to explain why I like them so much - I just do.

The Cinematic Orchestra - Everyday.
DJ Format - Music for the Mature B Boy
Does It Offend You, Yeah? - You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into
Frank Turner - Sleep is For the Weak.
Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike
Gogol Bordello - Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike
Goldie Lookin' Chain - Greatest Hits (a couple of famous songs, but the rest of the album is fantastic too)
Hybrid - Morning Sci-Fi
Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons
Mr. Scruff - Keep It Unreal
Rage Against the Machine- Rage Against the Machine
Sigur Ros - Takk

Might be a bit old for some of you, but Boss Drum by The Shamen has no down-tracks on it as far as I am concerned.

Indeed. Mr Yudster got a standing ovation at a karaoke night once for performing that. He was very drunk, and it was brilliant.

Ooh, I saw him last night and thought he was great. It's not much more than a bloke singing with a guitar though - his lyrics make it I think.

Albums with no filler in my opinion are: Oasis-Definitely Maybe, Nirvana-Nervermind, Razorlight-Razorlight (inspired album title!), Blur-Parklife, track 8 used to mesmorise me when I was having a roll your own "relaxed" moment! Can't speak Latin so I have no idea what they are singing about, if indeed they are singing Latin lyrics. Kula Shaker-K was another great "relaxed" album.

I would recommend Madonna's "Bedtime Stories"... Despite the title (!!), it is a gorgeous collection of the most beautiful ballads, some of which were never released as singles. Lovely. :-)

Spot on with Faith No More's "Angle Dust" That has recently made it's way back into my collection after years and years. I love 'RV'.

I'd like to suggest Lovage "Music To Make Love to Your Old Lady By" Which Ironically is the same group that does Gorillaz (Dan the Automater, Damon Alblaahjfralala ((I have issues with his name)) etc).
