I'm told on the grapevine that Radio Ones boss for the last 10 y ears Andy Parfitt will soon be promoted to head of BBC Radio ,taking over from Jenny Abramsky,who resigned today http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7340748.stm .If my info is correct it will almost certainly mean that Ben Cooper will take over as new Radio One boss.What changes this will lead to at Radio One we will have to see later in the year....Anyway ,congrats to Andy and ben on th eir forthcoming promotions!

If this is indeed true I think it'd be interesting to see how this will change BBC radio as a whole, rather than Radio 1. I'd imagine that radio 1 wouldn't change that much, but the other 5 main stations will see a massive change if Andy Parfitt replaces someone who's been heavily involved with Radio 4 and 5.

Radio 4's one big weekend at various National Trust Properties, with guest appearances from El Divo and Nigel Kennedy.
