I'd just like to point out at this juncture that there are no bookies that will take bets on people dying or the next person to die. Very rarely do they take bets on negative things at all as it's very difficult to prove a negative. Occasionaly we'll do it in sporting events but not for non-sporting events.

Imagine some guy betting who's gonna die next and then goes and get's a sniper rifle!

Think great talent might be stretching it a bit, but a shame he died essentially of guilt. Suppose it just goes to show that when you think you have it all, i.e. nice house, great partner, great job, plenty of cash, it can all come crashing down around your ears. Here for the grace of god go I, or whatever the saying is.

I don't understand why. My opinion of someone never changes when they die; if they were a great person, I still think that.. if they were an arsehole, why should I think any different because they're dead?

I don't think Mark Speight can be classed as either a great person, or (as far as I know) an arsehole.. but his death is a very sad conclusion to a very sad story.

I think certain people get elevated a position or two (which isn't what I originally said I know!). It's a kind of posthumous affection that people never really showed while they were alive. Of recent people who have died, I think Jeremy Beadle is a good example. I never disliked the man but a lot of people seemed to be saying 'you know what, he wasn't so bad after all'

I've been waiting for this one, and hoping not to see it. I always liked him on telly, he made quality kids TV and I'm very sad to think that SmArt and SmArteenies won't be seen again. Even sadder to think of the reason why.
