I love being patriotic, just not in a tabloid kinda way, where they just bleat on about patriosm like it goes hand in hand with footy (no pun intended). People only seem to wave the flags during tournaments, and now there isnt one for us, so we've got chuff all to feel good about as a nation.....

..It really shouldnt be that way - which is what i think Foot is trying to say, and I agree with him.

I'm proud of being English and I also wouldn't want to live anywhere else; in fact, I'm proud of my roots full stop, which includes Milton Keynes and Newport Pagnell, England and the UK. I am proud to consider myself as a southerner. Not to the point where I look down on others who are not from the UK, England or wherever, but I am proud of my heritage and I wouldn't want to be from anywhere else. Although if I were from somewhere else, I'm sure I'd still say the same.

Flag waving is a kind of false patriotism in my opinion, but there's nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage, wherever you're from.
