I hate to be a pest, but can anyone help me create an Avatar ? I have been into my user control panel, gone to browse, clicked on a picture, but I am being told that my pic is TOO BIG.. Despite trying to change the size, and seemingly doing so, the Avatar is not appearing on screen?

Yeah, but you are just plain nasty when it suits you though. I mean, where was the need to tell me you didn't "care" when I was only asking a simple question... And, btw, avatars don't seem to take the volume of time you suggested at all.

Should I quote my PM to you here, or would you like to take that back now? Oh, and I said that creating an avatar would take a long time, taking one from the gallery (which is what I suggested) is obviously far quicker.

That 'fuss' being me not having the the creative ability to create a good-looking avatar in a reasonable amount of time? I agree, for graphics problems you would certainly have less 'fuss' by going to someone who is good at graphics.

The pic actually looks quite like me... only the hair is shorter. I quite like it.

And Viv you always come across as really silly when you argue with people, I know you're not that bad really, but why not stop making a fuss over silly things. Oh and if you knew Foots would be better at sugar coating some basic instruction for you, why ask someone who you know finds talking to mere "computer users" very irritating in any event, what about the phrase moderator gives you any thought it would provide you with a way of sorting this issue out. Oh and also Tophers very good at these sorts of things as well, I think he helped me with this same subject previously.

I answered the technical question, and answered it quite well, I think. That wasn't your problem. Your problem was me not being able to create a new avatar from scratch for you.

As you can see, you are superfluous to my needs. Your problem is you look down upon simple computer users as being beneath you, so that when a person asks the simplest question, they are either treated with disdain, or ignored completely. I appreciate you are a highly technical individual, but some of us aren't.

Granted, but this is what I posted: -

I am very possibly the worst person you could have asked - my art and design skills verge on the non-existent. However, you can use pretty much any picture you can find on the internet (providing it's within the size limits). You just need to get the URL of the image and paste it in the 'Upload from a URL' box on the Profile -> Edit Avatar section of your UCP. Also on that section is a 'Display Gallery' button that has loads of avatars that are ready for use; perhaps one of those would suit you.
