After reading both the Chris Moyles books and throughly enjoying them, i was wondering or more hoping that Chris would write another. Does anyone know if he is or not ?

Oh right OK, After completing Chris' second book, which I got from Amazon on Friday, I can report that it's my favourite read of 2008 ! Some great one liners and generally funny bits, Not quite as good as the first but still an amazing read :D

Didn't the second one do poorly? If it did, I can't see him doing another one.

It's quite high in the paperback chart. I'm wondering if he wants to go down the Jeremy Clarkson route of releasing books where he just waffles on about stuff. Less biographical and more editorial in nature. I think he'd be good at that style of authorship personally as his rants are one of the best things on the show.

To be honest though if he put his name to a brand of oven cleaner I'd buy it.

Actually that would be great. It could just be an empty cannister saying "Chris Moyles Oven Cleaner!" - instructions: 1)Do not use oven 2) Your oven will now be clean.

I once bought a doll of the invisible man and a Russian space pen. So I'm proof of the idiots who buy this stuff.

A book of rants would be a seller I reckon.

Andy B took the words out of my mouth, i was just going to say " Chris' second book did have the same feel as the Jeremy Clarkson one " which is why i throughly enjoyed it :D I hope there will be many more book releases by Mr.Moyles.

First one is about his early DJ career and how he got to radio1 interspersed with random stories about each of the team and various "friends of the show".

Apparently he's still owed a night on the tiles from Parf Daddy for his first breakfast show figures.

Second book is more about life at radio1 and general things in his life.....

I think the general consensus is that the first one is better as it really shows him for the geek he truly is. Plus it's a fascinating and accurate insight into the world of commercial radio (I think).

Well, the first one ' The Gospel According To Chris Moyles ' was basically your typical autobiography, It was the story of his life: How he got into Radio, What stations he worked for and how he got the job at Radio 1, It was my favourite book of all time.

The second one is completely different, It's more about things that have happened over the last 3 years. For example one of the chapters is all about Chris' life and the Brits, When you buy It don't expect a autobiography expect a book where Chris rants about life in London and being famous. Still, in my opinion it's very good read and for only £5 from Amazon it's well worth it :D

I liked the book - it had some interesting stories in it - but it wouldn't even be close to my Top 10. I'm not sure it'd be in my Top 50.

I've just read about it on Wikipedia, I always though it was a fictional book about how to keep peace and prevent war, well it seems it isn't. Just a thought - Console, what is your type of book ?

Sci-Fi & Fantasy, mainly, but I also read Crime and Detective/Mystery novels (like Sherlock Holmes).

Well, my top three are likely to be all Discworld novels, so I'll just choose one from that series.

  1. Thud! - Terry Pratchett
  2. Space - Stephen Baxter
  3. Atlantis - David Gibbins

NB: It was very tempting to put H2G2 in the Top Three.

I've not read Thud, but i'm working my way through the Pratchett novels at the moment.
I thing 'Guards! Guards!' is my favourite so far.
