Getting it out the way takes bugger all effort and isn't really well done.. you just have to make sure you turn up on time. Doing well (which he may or may not have done and won't find out for a while yet) takes a bit more effort.

After my steadily worsening situation at uni, I got all my continuous assessments back from Spanish this term, Spanish being my worse subject.

I passed all of them, half of them with more than 85%. I'm still in a state of shock, but very, VERY pleased. :D

You need to reassess your situation. "Steadily worsening" seems not to apply.

You got away with it - don't do it again! 8)

Making me smile over the past few days: the sunshine, finally getting rid of coursework, getting sent flowers in the post, finding out nice stuff about myself, and ice cream. :)

New Scientist Magazine wrote:Question:- I travelled to Scotland recently where I took this picture of an organism (photo unavailable). It was smooth, glossy and transparent like melting ice, and quite hard to the touch. It was not alone; there were four others close by, the biggest of which was about 20 centimetres across. Can any reader tell me what it is?

Answer:- The organism is the pupa of a haggis. Your correspondent is very fortunate: haggis normally pupate only under cover of dense heather or bracken, and pupation usually happens at the onset of the Scottish winter in early September. In due course the outer skin becomes opaque, and the inner tissues become firm and granular as water is lost. It is at this point that pupating haggis are collected for human consumption. Those that elude would-be gourmets remain in a dormant state until spring, emerging as fully developed adults or "imagos", ready to seek a mate and ensure the continued supply of this delicacy.

This time last week I was under review from the French department to see if I was capable to pass this year. Now I'm sitting here having nailed 2 assessments this week with an exemption from the final exam and a passport to 3rd year. Happy * days! :D :D
