I know this might be a bit of a dodgy subject but I want to start a movement to bring back daphne and celeste!! yeah I know they that they aren't exactly the hippest band going but I defy anyone to admit that they have produced the two most catchest songs in recent history with "U.G.L.Y" and "Ooh stick you"

It doesn't matter who you are i guarentee that as soon as you hear either of these songs that it gets stuck in your head all day long! In fact I bet the pure mention of them now has got you singing at least one of them!!!!!!!

Join Me in my campaign! You know you want to!!!!!!!!!!!!

Firstly - 2000 is not 'recent history' as far as pop songs go.

Secondly - the two MOST catchiest songs? Aye, course they were... tit.

firstly (as you put it) - yes it is "recent history" as pop music goes back to about the 50/60's so 8 years is bugger all

secondly - as much as you hate to admit it I bet you the know the words to both those songs!!!

thirdly - they do actually rock!!

Well, having just stuck on the song (on YouTube, I don't own the album or owt) and had a listen to OOh Stick You, I have come to the natural conclusion that there doesn't seem to be any great lyrics in there and the only bit i know is "Ooh stick you, your mama too and your daddy" which is repeated several times.

I know more words to the Crazy Frog song than this guff.

Tit: (adj) An extremely stupid person.

This is a shit way to spend a saturday night. :(

Does this thread count as us abusing a newbie cos they are a newbie? Or can it just be cos of the thread subject? I'd also like to point out to all the haters (Moyles - i'm talking to you here) that we have managed to keep this on topic so far!

If someone is a tit, they are tit whether they are a newbie or not. This person is a tit. Their longevity or otherwise on the boards is an irrelevance. As are they.

This person joined to start a campaign like this? They clearly want a mention on the show.

So take it you made up meaning of the word tit? Coz lets face it we both know that aint the (adj) of the word!! and in all fairness I would have expected a much better insult from someone coming from glasgow!!

Just to make it clear I have never said that that they were the greatest lyrics ever written. Never said that they were were up there with all time greatest songs ever written. And def didnt say that they were the most intellectual songs but you HAVE to admit that they are catch as f#*k!!!

No I don't. They aren't. I remember Daphne and Celeste existed, I remember the name of one of their songs - I can't remember how it goes. That = not catchy.

Ok. I'll assume that you meant "thats obviously what you want to look like" (which is not what you said at all, but what you actually said makes no sense in any language) - where do you get that from? I have a picture of a fictional hollywood vampire as my avatar so I want to look like a fictional hollywood vampire? If that applies to all avatars, we have a collection of unusually disturbed members on these boards.

You really are a tit.

Why would you think Yudster wants to look like that just because she's got it as her avatar. Do you think I want to look like Andy Capp?

I take that back, this guy is fun...

pawtucket pat wrote:So take it you made up meaning of the word tit? Coz lets face it we both know that aint the (adj) of the word!!

Can you tell me what the adjective definition of 'tit' as YOU understand it would be then? Just so we are clear here, that is the adjective, not the noun.

pawtucket pat wrote:and in all fairness I would have expected a much better insult from someone coming from glasgow!!

Listen ya wee bampot, yer nowt but a reet numpty and yer face looks like a chicken shitting razor blades. Awa an bile yer heed...

Better?

I put it to you, pawtucket pat, that if they were, as you say, "catch as f#k", then they would still be getting fairly frequent air play on the radio, and in clubs and pubs up and down the country. I haven't heard that song in aaaaages till tonight, and I visit a lot of pubs and clubs!

Ergo, I feel that they were actually just irritating poppy songs that the kids (or 'kidz') were buying at the time.

the meaning of the word "tit"

noun
1. either of two soft fleshy milk-secreting glandular organs on the chest of a woman [syn: breast]
2. the small projection of a mammary gland [syn: nipple]
3. small insectivorous birds [syn: titmouse]

(there is no adjective for the word)

As for the insults you missed out "bawbag" if you are going to pretent to be a glasgow boy you might as well get it right (BTW yes you might live in glasgow but you obviously aint born and breed glasgow)

And you say you "visit a lot of pubs and clubs" but lets face it you are sitting on a web forum on a saturday night! hardly a rocking social life you have!!!

1) There is an adjective for "tit". It's slang. Similar to "bawbag": http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=tit
2) I missed out "bawbag" cos that's an affectionate term I use for another member on here.
3) I'm in tonight cos I was out Thursday, Friday and again tomorrow night. My social life, if anything, is too 'rocking' - I need to stop spending so much on booze, but then, I do have that Glasgweigan stereotype I need to keep portraying.

Fair play, i'm heading to kip anyways.

I be from just outside Glasgow in Paisley. Depends on who i'm with and what we are out for, last night was in various pubs in the city and ended up in the Classrooms which is a sorta cheesy club. First time I've been in there - twas a good laugh. £1.50 a drink - ye canna knock that.

Tomorrow it's pub quiz time in Paisley. The quiz used to be held in an O'Neils but it's just closed last week, so the quiz has moved to the pub across the road.

So not actually glasgow then!!! What part of paisley you from? ferguslie park? johnstone? Linwood? or other?
