Would anyone like to see the return of the 10-hour takeover for future Bank Holidays? Or any holiday Mondays?

I'm looking forward to the different DJ's on Monday, but would still love another take-over for the future.

Please, someone, bring it back!! :-)

I would like to see the 10-hour takeover, but as I've indicated before, only if playlisted tracks were banned.

Chris Evans does a (usually) superb request show on Radio 2 on a Friday afternoon because there are no kids ringing up and requesting the stuff that was played yesterday. And the day before. And.. you get the idea.

Yes, I like the current way of doing things but it would be nice to see the Takeover back sometimes.

Seconded. What is the point of a takeover if they just play the same things we would usually hear?

Yeah i'd like to see another takeover, but i agree that playlisted tunes should be banned. The last time they did one it was pretty much all current songs.

A takeover would be great but please dont ever let the 'alternative' dj's on primetime again. It was painful. I had to turn the radio off in the car about 2 o clock yesterday afternoon. Maybe it was shit or maybe I'm old or something, but I could feel some sort of dad comment brewing!!

I thought the alternative DJs were good - if people want to hear the Baywatch themetune (or whatever 'random' stuff they play on the takeover) i'm sure they can listen on their Ipods. It's good to introduce people who only listen during the day to something different.
Kissy Sellout's show was my favourite, listening to that one again!

It's not really upto R1 to introduce me to new material, I've been quite capable for the last 30 years or so of letting my music tastes develop by itself. I know R1 cater for a very diverse range of people, but I'm not going to start listening to new material if I dont like it, I'll just switch off. Introducing one or two more alternative tracks per hour would be a better way of doing it, otherwise in my opinion its overload. Break people in a bit more gently.

I like the idea about one or two alternative tracks per hour - I wonder how chained Radio 1 are to the playlist and what the consequences of them not sticking to it as much would be during normal daytime slots.

Exactly. Yesterday seemed too hardcore 'alternative' for me. A mix up of say 70% playlist, 30% alternative.

I'm not a massive fan of the "alternative" DJs being on during the daytime, if I fancy listening I'll either listening to the radio when I don't normally, or I'll listen again online.

I do like the 10-hour takeover, though, and I've love to bring that back! I also agree that a mix between playlist and alternative stuff would be good, just to make sure that I don't listen to the same 6 songs on a constant loop throughout my day.

I like alternative DJs totally at random. I have decided I like Judge Jules and Pete Tong, but no-one else (so far....).
