Chris looked very good last night, some rude people in the crowd were calling him fat b*stard which he replied with "rich b*stard I have you know" but you can tell Chris has done well, keep going!

Chris lead the football chant and overall it was a fab night, I loved the chiefs :)

Is this a post about spelling or Chris and exercise? My mind has been in a state of oblivescence while reading through the corrivalry.

Some members should be part of the OED forums where the finer points of grammatical integrity and uprightness can be discussed, and not discussing it on this forum. As a relatively new member the attitudes of some is giving off the patina that seems designed to aggravate and enrage newer and more naive members. This is no way to conduct a forum. Yes this site is proving popular amongst listeners of the show, which means the forum is getting more members, who in turn are posting new comments and messages, So unfortunately the status quo will be challenged. This I think will be efficacious in bringing new vibrancy and dynamic to the forum which I for one welcome, as some have grown accustomed to a particular way of forum life which is being challenged. These ones who have grown accustomed should wake up and realise they are now part of a wider and more dynamic group who all share a common interest just the same as they do, but instead of throwing the toys out of the pram and causing unrest because there is new members who's ability levels may differ from there own, they should not judge folks any lesser because of it, rather embrace the fact there is a new wave of members with different viewpoints and comments.

If someone's comments contain a few erroneous words this should not make his or her post/comments any less valid. Nor should it be a cause for as some have put it "open season" for bullying comments.

Ah hah, however, the first line of the forum rules states: "No 'txt speak' - please use proper English (this includes the prohibition of the phrases 'lol', 'end of' and 'Fact.')".

I am a big believer that whither or not I agree with them, if there are rules laid down then it is up to me to follow them. I visit other sites where there isn't so much emphasis on such things, but they have other rules of their own. If you agree to be a member of a community like this, then you agree to play by the rules and if you don't then you have noone to blame but yourself for what happens.

SpaceBoy wrote:These ones who have grown accustomed should wake up and realise they are now part of a wider and more dynamic group who all share a common interest just the same as they do

I have been visiting this site for about six years now, maybe longer and yet I only joined just over a year ago. This site has ALWAYS been a bitchy moany place, in fact I think it is a damn site less bitchy now than it was a few years back. People need to realise not to take things so seriously and just get on with it.

SpaceBoy wrote:but instead of throwing the toys out of the pram and causing unrest because there is new members who's ability levels may differ from there own,

I'd like to think that I personally do not pick on new people because they are new, I pick on someone because either I don't agree with what they are saying or because I think they are being a bit of a fool (that is when I tend to use the word 'tit'). I'd like it noted that plenty of the longer term members on here have suffered a bit of a slagging from me cos they have said something daft or cos they think that twixs are better than kit kats but I expect them to give the same back. Especially if they actually believe that Dominos are better than Pizza Hut... the fools! I've noticed that the people that tend to last are the ones who don't take either themselves or the board too seriously and take it all with a pinch of salt.

PS: Just to hit the nail in the coffin of this little post, the last line of the above quote should read "differ from their own". Sleep well. 8)

Who could possibly believe that?!

As for the rest -- one would think that before you post on this site, you have been visiting it for quite some time. For instance, I've only been a posting member since '07 but have been poking around on here since '98. When you join the forum and "agree" to the rules, that's all of them. You can't pick and choose which to follow. It's not a * buffet.

It's very easy to believe if you've tried the Dominator base - damn that's good.

I agree with Console, in fact, even without the Dominator base, Dominos are better than Pizza Hut by a country mile (are country miles bigger than normal miles?)

I don't think a country mile has a fixed distance, and usually means something like 'further than it seems'.

What Foots said! With the exception of the Dominoes v Pizza Hut argument where I have to agree with my esteemed colleagues Mr Topher and Mr Console.

Pinch of salt with pizza? No no no!

I think since I joined(not because of me joining) their has been a slight change in stance from a lot of people on newbies.

When I joined I was warned by a few people that most of the regulars hated newbies. Now it seems most are welcomed with open arms until they become a "tit" or get pulled up on spelling. Even then its the newbies that start kicking off because they dont understand the general sense of humour(bitchyness/sarcasm) of the board.

As for Dominoes v Pizza Hut, i like pizza from either, but Dominoes has better dips

Garlic and herb every time! I always ask for a good few extra and get my wallet out to pay for them... usually they tell me not to worry, whereas people who ask for extra dips and expect not to have to pay invariably get charged. I would of course pay with no problems if I were asked, but that's usually the way it goes.

Everyone is a tit. People just show it at different times.

As for spelling - the only two people that really go on about it are S4B and Topher. A spelling mistake can hapen easily - it's only when you do it all the time that you deserve to get shredded to bits.

charlalottie wrote:Also Twixs are better than KitKats.

No no no!

Kit Kat > Twix

Drifter > Twix

Kit Kat > Drifter

Is that not basically the Dominator base? It's a cheese-filled base anyway.

Other than that you are correct.

You would say that though. (OK you could say that I would say the opposite, but I don't think I'm really worse than you. I wouldn't say you're worse than me, but I wouldn't say I'm worse than you.)

Ok Accepted. We're as bad as each other! Deal? I do think we perform a valuable function on this board though. We are trying to improve the literacy of the mases! I think that's very important.

Topher is worse at winding new folk up. S4B is more moany about spelling.

You are both special in your own unique way.
