You should be naturally tuned in to water, being born under a Water sign = Cancer.

Do you really want me to explain why that is absolute nonsense?

No, because you have explained in the past. Still, I believe in it even if you don't. And you have the hard shell of a Cancerian = the crab, with the soft centre underneath.

If you HAD to choose only ONE of these, what would it be -

Never eat pickled eggs / Never eat pickled onions

Never eat Chinese food / Never eat Indian Food

Never watch a DVD / Never listen to a CD

Never wear sunglasses / Never wear a watch

Never watch BBC1 again / Never watch ITV again

Never eat Ketchup / Never eat Mayonnaise

Never kiss again / Never hug again

Never read a book again / Never drink alcohol again

Never watch TV again / Never listen to the radio again

Never eat meat again / Never eat dairy again

Never go abroad again / Never go to a beach again

Never cut your hair again / Never trim your nails again (I could bite them instead)

Never smoke a cigarette again (what you don't know you won't miss) / Never drink alcohol again

No it doesn't, it represents not having to do your laundry by hand, which is far more comforting. I agree with you about the sea though. And sand actually.

In the book, "Silence of the Lambs", there is a section where Clarice falls asleep by a washing machine, and that is, indeed, the psychology behind it. Water humming in her ears = soothing = like being in the womb.

Despite that being meaningless, you could also argue that I'm very self-confident, like Aries; honest, disciplined and resourceful, like Taurus; intellectual and inquisitive, like Gemini, Aquarius and Sagittarius; creative, like Leo; analytical, reliable, precise and a perfectionist, like Virgo; manipulative and graceful, like Libra;and determined and willful, like Scorpio.

Yes, console, but FIRST and FOREMOST, you have the characteristics of the Crab, hidden away in your little shell, only carefully revealing information. I, for example, am a true Scorpio: determined and willful, with a nasty sting in the tail for enemies.

You do realise that the supposed characteristics of the star sign aren't simply attributes of the symbol that identifies it, right?

The sound of a washing machine (and other things too) is known to be soothing to new babies. However the responses which trigger a "soothed" reaction - ie falling asleep, in the baby's case - are known to disappear within the first 25 weeks of life outside the womb. Any such response in adulthood is a result of suggestion only. And I just checked this for accuracy with a paediatrician.

But Viv, if starsigns really are what you say they are, then wouldn't there be just 12 kinds of people in the world? If horoscopes are to be believed, every month wouldn't 1 twelfth of the population be distracted by a distant love while another twelfth become lucky due to the number 6 and the colour red?

That's just one of the ways we know they are bollocks. There are hundreds and hundreds more.

Once it said that I would be lucky at work, and a person I met in a cafe would buy me cheese and onion flavour running shoes.

Well at lunch time I found 14 half eaten Popetts in the canteen, how lucky was that. I didn't go to a cafe though, and so didn't get my trainers. But hey, spot on.
