No. 1) I believe neither Chris H nor Console would have the time nor the inclnation to attempt such an experiment. It's far easier to believe that Iain Smith is a tit.

No. 2) No-one from the BBC is allowed to pretend to be someone they are not, nor can they deceive people. The get into a lot of trouble if caught doing it.

No. 3) The fact that he keeps coming back shows that he is either thick skinned in which case it is laudable but not relevant or simply that he is thick which IS relevant.

Why not just accept the fact that he is a tit who should be shown the door......

Indeed. I have voted in terms of what I would do if I had Chris's authority, so the "wrong to kick someone out just because you don't like them" thing is cancelled out (if it was valid in the first place) by "If Chris said "this guy annoys the hell outta me... banned!" ".

It's not cancelled out at all. I still think it's wrong but it's Chris's forum and while I might not personally agree with his decision, I wouldn't question it - what gives me the right to do that?

It pains me somewhat that this lengthy thread will merely serve to top up Mr Smith's already highly over inflated ego.

From what I have read of his posts so far, he is ill informed, arrogant and his presence only seems to bring discord to the forum. He appears to have a negative, destructive and divisive influence wherever he goes. I supppose his mother loves him though.

Big statement coming from a newcomer, but this is my honest opinion.

I agree with about everything Andy has said. Ian Smith doesn't contribute, he only posts in threads he's started.

The point someone raised about, regardless of the rules, he's bring discord and disharmony to the board and thus should be booted. The place would be calmer without him.

As for his, I outright refuse to believe he's actually in his 30s. Either that or he has a worrying amount of growing up to do.
