You know what. I like him!! He's a harmless guy, who does randomly come up with some good stuff! :-) maybe not that often, but it does happen.

What annoys me is the fact a topic has actually had to be done up about him. Why do people always have to be so publicly picked on... What I think is pathetic is this topic, and I shall just plain say so!! I very firmly voted "NO".

Best post. Totally agree, Bruvva. The unfortunate thing about a topic being done up is now it will only encourage others to pick on the guy even more. Why couldn't he have told privately he was perhaps "at the end of the road"?

Count me out of any bullying/commenting on him.

Personally, I view it as a challenge, thank you. You are welcome to throw abuse at me, because I will only see it as something to make me stronger. And I, in my little corner, have a very genuine love of radio, and do indeed make sure I create moyles-related topics in general. I'd rather contribute as do nothing other than snipe and create zero topics.

But he lies Viv... how is that "good stuff"? And he's not even funny, the "oh no, they've died" thread was funny at first, but now it's just getting tiresome.

Andy's posts on this hit the nails on head.

Sorry, I'm so angry at this topic I'm physically shaking. In the meantime, I have to create a puzzle to get rid of the adrenaline.

Generally, it's any post that begins with "My sources tell me..."

I think it's quite sad that he needs to post such drivel, he's so unsatisfied with real news and dead people that he needs to make crap up.

Ok, fair point! "my sources tell me..." are often wrong, but he's good at posting who's gonna be on the radio in the future, etc. I have a learned a couple of useful websites thanks to him, which I have duly noted. And I like the touch of madness/eccentricity. R1 has that. I always find it more remarkable that moyles.net attracts people who are more obsessed by spelling/grammar, things being perfect, etc. The best moments are often the ones that go a little "off centre" in life.

If I had to ban people, it wouldn't be Iain S. It would be, as follows: Yudster, Boboff, S4B, Bonanzoid, Kendra K.

He's eccentric, I'll give you that.

I just don't like the fact that he's on here blatantly lying. How is that entertaining? I think the suggestion of iain creating a blog was an excellent idea, at least then he can go off and post his own bizarre news about dead people and the people reading it will be people CHOOSING to read it.

OK, the lying is not cool... But other stuff can be entertaining, and he does randomly come in & get it right every so often, and I like that. Perfection is soooo boring, and so last year.

But generally, the news he does get right is already old news! He posted something on the lines of "...my sources have just told me that Chris will be on BBLB/BBBM (can't remember which one it is. Hate BB.) this year..." which is old news/already assumed news, as he was on it last year so of course he's going to be on it this year.

I just get annoyed that he posts things on the thought that he's the first one with the information.

At least when you post things from Edith's or Jo's shows you clearly state that it's from there.

Actually, Chris being on BBBM was new news to me!! And so, it was welcome. :-)

I don't like the "death stuff" I must say! I don't tend to read that, because it's going down a negative path. But then, it's just a simple matter of not opening the topic. Quite simple really. Or why not try the "foes" option. Again, nice & simple.

It's not actually the Iain Smiths of the forum that annoy me, it's the people I have stated above, whom I consider the real time-wasters, who just simply show up to look at arguments, and who create no topics themselves, or if they do, they are no better than anyone else's. It's easier to stand back and criticise, of course.

The psychology is that the more topics a person creates, the more likely they are to become a target, purely by putting themselves "out there".

Now hang on a minute, people who don't post new threads aren't time wasters, they just may not be very good at it or they'd rather just join another conversation. I gave creating new threads a bash once, and I personally think I didn't do too well at it, so I've now decided to jump in on other conversations I have an interest in rather than creating my own. I don't always join in, but that's generally because I either don't know much about it (like Football or BB threads) or because I'm really not interested. Just because I don't then create a new once to suit my liking doesn't mean I'm a time waster or not worthy of being here.

I also think that the people you've mentioned don't just show up for arguments at all. I think they're just being part of the conversation/debate like you have now about iain smith.
The whole point of an argument is to get various views on things to then come to a conclusion; and their threads are just a part of it. I personally think the majoirty of their posts are very neutral and can actually be taken either way; constructive or negative, depending on how you take it, but at the end of the day it's all about being a part of the conversation/argument/debate.
Generally, an argument will attract more people which is why it can seem that certain people are always there, but so what? They obviosuly want to be a part of it and have their say, I didn't know you had to do certain things before you can post during an argument.

Speaking of creating threads; I believe S4B created a cracking thread a while ago; it's called "What's annoying you today?" and I believe it's into it's 115th page now. Now to me, that's a sign of it being a bloody good thread, especially as there have been hundreds of good topics come out of it.
I personally would rather have one wicked thread like that than 2 dozen rubbish threads that have lasted no longer than 2 pages!

Incidentally, there are a whole bunch of other forums where Iain posts exactly the same drivel with exactly the same comments and responses. His actions could, to some people, be considered trolling - and therefore bannable.

As I've said before, I've got no problems with Viv, sure she creates a lot of random topics and has a far sunnier disposition than anyone else on here, even Yuds, but Viv interacts and that's what I'm getting at.

I'm by saying I dislike Iain as a person because I don't know enough about him because he chosen not to go into detail about himself and he NEVER responds. However the side of himself that he has shown on here is that of a derranged madman. I'm not picking on him or bullying him, I'm suggesting that he is simply a troll!
