(Ahem, sorry for my Iain_smith esq thread title... it works for him!)

So some guy has claimed that he has video taped an Alien peering through his window, then later entering is house. The actual video hasn't been released yet, although a few stills and re-enactments have been.

What are your thoughts? Why has it taken 5 years for this to come about? How come his video was set up just at the right time? He claims the reason it hasn't been officially released yet is because it is being scrutinized by techie guys. Is this true or is he waiting for the best deal?

Discuss. Now.

P.S: This thread comes to you with help from Console© "In the Valley of the Geek, the guy with 20/20 vision is King"

Bloody-stupid-work-filters-won't-let-me-see-the-UFO-video-to-feed-my-UFO-obsession-argh!

Speaking of UFO's, has anyone else ever seen this UFO video which starts off with a group of people at the top of a building in New York filming the views, and then all of a sudden they catch something fly across the sky and then jetting off really * quick.
I've never been able to prove or find a way to prove it's fake unless they've overlapped 2 videos, even if it is fake, it's such a good video.
I can't post the youtube link right now due to works fun filter but I'll get it later.

I would love to believe it's real but I am very dubious.

IF someone had real video of an alien wouldn't they sell it to someone straight away rather than waiting 5 years and then STILL not show it!?

Extraterrestrial life and astronomy in general interests me greatly; I find it almost impossible to believe that there are no other planets, given the size of the universe (and the possibility that other than our own universe, there may be others), that are capable of sustaining life and more to the point, do sustain life. For all we know there could be an almost mirror image of our own planet out there somewhere.

However, not having watched the video (as I'm at work), I find it difficult to believe that something like this would be genuine.

Just google Stan Romanek and decide for yourself if he's in any way credible.

If you can't be bothered to, he isn't.

Exactly. It would be such a waste of space if we were the only life out there. I have so many books about UFO's and Extraterrestrial life. I'm fascinated by it.

Although it has a poor ending, I love the film Contact, especially the scenes where Jodie Foster views all the various galaxies. It's remarkable. I also love the film Signs (although the bit at the end is silly).

I like men in black

it gives you a real insight to what could be out their

Bit of a silly end though, why does Will Smith always save the world!

:D

I love the bit in Signs with the alien walking past the window at the children's birthday party. See, with Sci-fi films about encounters, I think its the general 'Awe' and 'surprise' that works for me, the 'realism that puts the encounter into perspective with the real world, Like the Huge Ship hovering over the city in ID4, The news reports in ID4 and Signs, The first shot of the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, the slight glimpses of the thing in Cloverfield...

It's all about the atmosphere, not special effects though.

Agreed.

I love that bit too... especially as no one has really done it like that before in a film about Aliens (i.e. Walking around human-like, etc) because you usually see an alien either behind their ships control panel (like ID4) or hobbling out of their ship like children. Signs however, really made it look realistic. I just don't like the bit at the end with Joaquin Phonix and the baseball bat - I just didn't think that that bit was called for. It would have been better (and more realistic) if they just went away after something happening.

Oh! I forgot about ID4. That's also a superb film (I even have the soundtrack).
I really do like the build up before they actually show the ship by just showing the shadow of the ship and people's reactions. It's fantastic.
Plus! You get to see Data from Start Trek minus the pasty face!

Probably because they couldn't get Bruce Willis.

What about Close Encounters of the Third Kind? I like that film, I think the only word that can describe it properly is "pleasant".

Well so do I, as long as it isn't leather.

As long as it's not 1980s leather trousers I suppose.

Are you saying David hasselhoff does nothing for you?

No, not nothing - he makes me feel nauseous, thats what he does for me.

Yea, was it just me or did it kind of remind you of Ezza?
I have no idea why....

Overuse of apostrophes is far more annoying than underuse.

Have you lost your lust for the leather/pleather clad Guy on Robin Hood?

It's a leather coat with him though, thankfully not trousers. But even if they were, he could get away with it. Yum.
