These petitions, whilst being in the correct spirit, are a complete waste of time. The government will do what the hell they like anyway. It just tells them what they already know, and are ignoring; everyone thinks fuel is too expensive. I'm not generally an anarchist but more direct action is needed, in the style of 2000 (I think that was the year). Once the country starts grinding to a halt due to fuel blockades, the government is forced to react and lower duty. It costs the economy too much in lower productivity. Until then they'll do precisly nothing.

True cost of fuel with zero profit or tax is around 30p per litre. That would mean filling up my diesel Vectra would cost about £18, instead of nearer £65 it's costing currently. Obviously I dont expect tax free and profit free fuel, just a reasonable price.

I know, you're absolutely right, which is why I normally ignore them. I am just so pissed off at the moment I'll try anything!

Please learn where to use apostrophes and use a spell checker.

Toph, I think we're fighting a losing battle. I'm beginning to come to the realisation that telling people off for bad spelling and grammar is a waste of time. I'm still happy to have a go about text speak though.

The odd typo is fine, but certain people (including this 'teddi-da-pirate' fella / lass) are consistently bad and particularly in his / her case, I find the inappropriate use of apostrophes very annoying.

There are certain posters - teddi thing being one of them - who I just don't bother to read any more because it takes too long to decipher the crapness of what they have "written".

Tit

Seriously, don't you read what you've written before you press submit?

If in doubt.... just put an apostrophe anywhere.

To think that you're at college. It's quite a scary thought.

I am someone in government business. However that's not what makes me superior. That would be my ability to use our language and express ideas in a coherent and understandable way. You don't have this. Ergo I am superior to you. Live with it.

I too consult for the government, and thus am also superior to you.

Oh, and I'm well sexy too.

So that's Ballbag 2 - 0 teddi.

I'm superior thanks to my luxurious long hair...it gives me special powers. My biggest fear is waking up one morning to find Mrs B Stood over me with a pair of garden shears laughing.

Which, and correct me if I'm wrong, is what I was saying. No need to be abusive. I often find that people of lower intelligence resort to swearing when they lack the ability to hold a coherent conversation, so I think you'll find that my point stands!

I just thought I would bring it back to topic for a very short while, I have to pay up front, for about 2000 miles a month, it's costing me a fortune. What work don't seem to understand is that the 40p per mile they pay us, doesn't go along way with the rising cost of diesel and it's supposed to pay for maintaince on the car... fat chance!

Can anyone tell me why the tanker drivers are talking about going on strike? Please tell me it's cos they are unimpressed with the fuel prices.

*I know I could google but I've taken a leaf out of Andy B's book*

Pay and conditions I believe they said on the news.
