On Sunday, whilst I was listening to R1, the weather was forecast to be "light showers", and so, I thought, "That's OK", and headed outside for a run!

Unfortunately, light showers actually turned into "the Monsoons" - I wound up like a drowned rat, and I even had water dripping into my actual ears!

So, I was wondering: have you ever been caught out by the weather, or stranded somewhere? Were you going to an event, and had to cancel?

If you check the BBC Weather pages in the morning, they've generally changed their mind by the afternoon about what the weather will be like.

Yeah, well it shouldn't be allowed. I heard this on the radio the other day: something about 7 forecasts, and everyone being different.

I had pains in my knees, and when I have pains in my knees, it's normally heavy rain. I should have listened to my knees.

Viv, i think you should post the condition of your knees on a regular basis so that we have a chance of knowing what the weather is going to do. In Ayrshire, anyway.

That's what I was like. Soaked through. A neighbour had actually commented on the state of me. My radio kept slipping out my ears, and when I re-inserted the plugs, all I could hear was, "drip, drip, drip".

When I evacuated for Hurricane Katrina, I was out of my house from August 27th until December 6th. That's the most extreme example but I have but I also have been caught out in a thunderstorm when running or going from the house to the car.

For once Dom got it spot on. I needed my sunglasses in the morning and my umbrella this evening. Now THAT'S what I call extreme weather!
