May as well create a thread for it as Federer and the divine Ana cruise towards the finals. Hopefully Murray will get to at least the second week, I don't think he'll win it but it's always nice to have British players doing well (and until the LTA sorts itself out it'll only ever be a "nice" bonus as, Murray aside, all the british players are pretty useless).

I like Henman Hill, or the Murray Mound as its now known

I went up a few years ago with college and sat on Henman Hill in the glorious sunshine getting pissed with my business studies teacher

It was great

Whilst I agree that Ana is divine, I don't agree that Federer will necessarily cruise to the final this year. In fact, seeing as he's in the same half of the draw as Djokovic, I could see him not getting there at all. In fact, I just went to the bookies to put a couple of quid on a Nadal v Djokovic final when I realised I'd lost my wallet, but that's another story.

Not sure I'd want both Ana and Djokovic to win - I work with Serbs and they'd be unbearable. It was bad enough with last year's eurovision!

And as for you losing your wallet before you can bet, that's just the bookie's new venture - they know your selection will lose anyway and take your money without you having the inconvenience of having to go to the betting shop.

Haha, Rafa for the win I reckon. Also, though Ana is world number 1, you can't bet against the Williams', much as I'd hate them to win it again.

I think this year will be the first year where both the men's and women's winner will not be a dead cert. Every year the women's is never certain but the men's is dominated by Federer.

This year i think Davydenko will be in with a shout and even Andy Roddick. However with the women's, i think Maria Sharapova will win her second Wimbledon.

Either way, it'll be a cracking championship

I'd tend to agree, they are both in with a shout.. personally, I don't think either will make the final though. I think Rafa will win and I hope he does. He plays stunning tennis.

I agree, Nadal played some sublime tennis at Queen's and if can repeat it at Wimbledon, which is usually a problem championship for him, then he could be heading to his first Wimbledon title.

In addition, Elena Baltacha is playing well. Won the first set after being a break down but lost the second. On serve in the third! Typical British player....

Grass isn't his best surface because he can't slide about like he can on the French clay courts. He's got better and better over the last few years though, and came close to beating Federer last year.

The US hard courts cause more of a problem for him.

Yeah, not many people can adapt to Hard Court especially so soon after the Grass season and especially the Brits. I think out of the recent Brits only Greg Rusedski has had any sniff of success at Flushing Meadows

I put £2 on Nadal to win the tournament at lunchtime.. he's off to a good start, but then, he wouldn't be expected to lose that one. If he's going to lose to anyone, it's unlikely to be someone other than Federer or Djokovic I reckon.

So muchfor my Davydenko prediction.....Roddick came through though!

I wonder what price I'd get for Chris Eaton to win Wimbledon?

Worth 50p isn't it?

I think I'm going to put a couple of quid on Andy Roddick to win. I think he's good enough to win but not a favourite so should good get a good price.

No. It's impossible for him to win and would absolutely be a waste of 50p.

Ah, not impossible, but extremely unlikely. More chance of a peaceful election process in Zimbabwe one thinks.

I'll stick to my Roddick flutter

I'd still go for impossible. As is a peaceful election in Zimbabwe, but that's another debate.

Glad I didn't bet on the two finalists now. Well, he could pull it back, but it's looking like a major upset.

Ana fans.. she's in trouble too.

(Ahem), I know this is a triple posting now, but Ana has scraped through by the skin of her teeth. They don't come much closer than this:

Wow. What a day! Still fancy a Federer/Nadal final and a Williams sister to win the ladies so I haven't really changed my mind on anything, but you can't beat a good shock. Especially this early.
