Funny, I fancy him to win the US more than anything else. Probably because it was over there that I first heard of him winning in the juniors.

Agree about the woman's game though, it's appalling these days for quality.

We're getting rain for the first time this year. Typical it would be my day off today.

Not too bad but like the British Competitors, the good weather couldn't make through to the second week.

Not raining until the first Friday is a bloody good result for Wimbledon fortnight, I'd say. This time last year it almost looked like they'd struggle to finish on time.

Are you seriously saying that Navratilova was only worth watching for her looks!?!

No, I was saying that even though she was ten time better than any of the top women now, even she accepted that the women's game was on an entirely different level to the men's. Although not in terms of entertainment, in my opinion. Men's tennis can be very dull, even at the top level.

Well, Gisela Dulko is still in (but not for much longer probably.)

I just heard Ancic is the last guy to beat Federer at Wimbledon. He's currently playing some really nice stuff, which would put him on a collision course with Federer in just another couple of rounds. Wouldn't it be nice to see someone else in the final this year?

Yeah, but that was quite a long time ago and Federer was still improving. I can't see it.

I am so BORED with Federer and Nadal...........

I see your point, but they both play incredible tennis and there's been no one to touch them (except with Nadal on hard courts.) Federer is on his way down, it won't be a quick process, but I think you'll either see him retire or people start to pick him off soon. Djokovic played terribly against Safin, but Djokovic really should have been in with a shout this year.

Wogan agrees with me that Nadal will nick it. He also agrees it's a travesty that Ana is out:
The great tragedy of Wimbledon has been Sharapova's exit followed by Ivanovic's exit - but then I'm a legs man.

Jankovic is still in she's got cracking pins. You'd need to put a bag on her head mind you...

She is still in (just), she's got a nice face too actually.

I thought the blonde she was playing today was much nicer to be honest. Oh, and she's fairly young (17 I think they said) and most impressive today, so will probably develop into a decent tennis player over the next couple of years.

Of course, the second sentence just makes you feel guilty about thinking the first one!

Jelena Jankovic is gorgeous, she has a beautiful smile. She and Jamie Murray were the best thing about last year's Wimbledon.

Jamie Murray is certainly nothing like the best thing about it this year. Even Andy is taking the mickey out his hair!

He is a bit McEnroe-esque with that hair.. except it was a bit more fashionable when McEnroe had it. I agree that Wozniacki is likely a future star.

Wozniacki looks like Kim Clijsters would have looked if she'd ever managed to be pretty. But at 17, she's certainly a prospect.

Well bugger me, looks like Jankovic is in trouble too.. she's a set and a break down. There really will be no one to look at then!

Unlikely though it is, I'd love Jie to win the women's.

I stand corrected, Anna Chakvetadze is quite nice, so I'll be rooting for her against Vaidisova.

Sania Mirza is also nice, but she was out on Thursday.
