I seem to remember Greg mentioning "Max from 1Extra" being drafted in to do his show, and asking people to be nice to her. On reflection, that may have been a clue as to how annoying people might find the show. I didn't hear her, as I rewarded myself with a lie-in due to there being a Moyles shortage. Having read your comments, I think I'll continue to give the show a miss!

I have yet to hear "Max from 1Extra" despite having to get up earlier the last couple of mornings. I switch it on - music. I go for a shower. I get out of the shower, music. I went to brush my teeth, came back... Scott Mills was on.

I'm guessing I got a lucky escape. And I thought Max was a man's name. Short for Maxine?

I was listening around the 6am mark, she sounded all impressed with herself as she was about to 'wake-up a celebrity'. Well strike me down with a feather before I wet myself with excitement. I tried to escape this by doing something I only ever do in emergencies - listen to local radio, BBC Manchester were playing 'Snow Patrol, Chasing Cars', then I tuned to the hapless Key 103, they too were playing 'Snow Patrol, Chasing Cars'.

I never did find out who the amaaazing celebrity who she rang up was - and I listened to almost all of the conversation, if you can call it that.

There's a woman at work called Maxine, who some people call Max.

Is that the artist or the song title?

I was going to write a pretty nasty post regarding the lass that is on before Mills, mainly because she has made my ears cry blood twice now.

However, I was always told that if I couldn't say anything nice, best not saying anything at all. So I won't mention the fact that she should be shot in the throat and instead congratulate her on her new gig. It can't be easy stepping into the shoes of Radio One (which she proves on a daily basis).

Good luck ma darling. You need it!

I thought this may have been a major over reaction, but then I had the mis fortune to hear her on my way home from work this morning. Truely, without doubt, hand on heart, she is unequivocally the worst DJ to ever be broadcast on R1. That voice is just.......just......SO * ANNOYING!

She really is! I mean really really! And this morning she was doing some stupid thing with Mills, just to put a ribbon around the whole disastrous package! I can't believe someone actually gave her a job talking in the radio. Why would you do that? Why??!!

Not too sure what she meant by dedicating that tune to Chappers, but to be fair maybe I missed something. As for recruitment of DJ's, whoever is responsible for that clanger needs a swift boot somewhere painful.

Sher repeated on Monday over and over again - as though she though her audience were too stupid to understand her - that she really likes Chappers. I have a feeling he will be scared.

I never liked Scott, don't know why but whenever he's on i instantly switch off. I might listen to Greg, i've heard good things about him. I never got the oppertuinity to listen to him. Now that i'm off from school, i have all the time in the world! :)

I want to hear her now, just to hear how bad she is. Sadly, I probably won't be up early enough before she goes back to the obscurity of 1Xtra.

I'm quite tempted too...if only there were some sort of ginger, clip monster around today that could sort it out but he's probably off having a jolly good time getting drunk on wine gums today!

Positive things about Scott Mills being in instead of Chris.

1. You get to watch Jeremy Kyle live, rather than on sky plus, which means that with the TV on you can get on with the Ironing.
2. The bleeper button on the Radio Alarm gets used.
3. The Black Eyed Peas get played on Radio one.
4. You get to play CD's in the car on the way to School, seeing your kids faces when you arrive singing the Wurzels at the top of your voice in front of their friends is priceless.
5. For everything else there is Mastercard.

Any more suggestions ?

6. I get to listen to Five Live discussing Wimbledon (as well as some other topical bits and pieces) before work.

Your Wurzels anecdote made me laugh..

7. If you have no beeper option on your alarm you do getout of bed faster so you can turn the radio off!

10. I can have a longer lie-in without being annoyed at missing the show.

12. I didn't have the radio on at all for the school run this morning. I had a great conversation with my son about his girlfriend who is in reception class! The conversation then turned to him wanting to be a Doctor when he grows up, but he doesn't want to put his hands inside peoples tummies, as it'd be horrible being covered in blood! All in all a vast improvement on Scott Mills.

13. I get to catch up on all the specialist shows I normally miss (EG Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs etc) as there are not normally enough hours in the day to listen to radio.

14. Having the time to watch some decent TV such as the Sopranos on DVD and Criminal Justice (which is amazing!)
