I too hate acronyms and initialisms. They should be banned along with all corporate spiel, it drives me nuts. Just say what you mean for crying out loud!

Ha sorry guys, but if you type RATM into google it comes up exactly what it is (quicker than typing a post out on here). And TITP can be worked out by the context.

That's not the point. If it's not an official acronym (I wouldn't expect anyone to type out The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, for example) then it should be typed in full in my opinion.

Yes, that's why I said 'in my opinion'. In my opinion it's lazy not to type it out and it may not be as bad as text speak, but, seeing as people here didn't understand it (if you have to Google it, it's fair to assume you don't understand it) then it still makes things harder to read.

No, no, no.....I wasn't having a go! No rules broken, no problem with people doing that - I don't like it because it reminds me of work, thats all! Certainly no feeling on my part that you shouldn't use them!
