The easy way to remember how to wire a plug is that the BLue wire goes on the Bottom Left, and the BRown wire goes in the Bottom Right.

The other one, if there is one, goes up top.

That's the way I remember it and that's why I got the question wrong.. I don't know them as live, neutral and earth (although everyone knows what the earth wire is anyway.)

I remember it that way too. And as for Earth, Live and Neutral, they're in alphabetical order, top to bottom.

I'm good at tuning video recorders too, though that's probably the extent of my technical skills!
