Have you ever done this?

Some people believe our lives are profoundly influenced by whatever pop song was #1 on the day we were born.

On the day Heather Mills (the ex Mrs McCartney) was born (12th Jan 1968) it was Hello Goodbye by The Beatles!

My number #1's are:
'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon in the US
'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' by Little Jimmy Osmond in the UK
'Ben' by Michael Jackson in Australia

See which songs you get

This should be moved to Ramble, but:

UK - With A Little Help From My Friends - Wet Wet Wet
US - One More Try - George Michael
AUS - Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car - Billy Ocean

Can't say that's influenced me in any way, but my parents weren't listening to the charts at the time.

That's odd about Heather and The Beatles.

Mine is "Whiter Shade Of Pale" (Nov. 1967).. Gorgeous: check it out! (I certainly seem to have remained whiter than white ever since '67, so it's indeed very apt : non-stop "incidents" since 1967).

It's not really. The Beatles had lots of number ones.

Then they are very stupid indeed. I can understand being interested in finding out, just for curiosity's sake - but to believe that it has any effect, let alone a profound one, on your future is worthy of - well, you know who. And I don't mean Voldemort.

US - Endless Love by Diana Ross & Lionel Ritchie. Meh.
AUS - Stars on 45 Medley - Stars on 45. Eh?

Wait until Yuds and S4B post theirs, although I'm not sure if that site goes back to the days of wax cylinders.

Well, the UK number 1 album was "Please Please Me" by The Beatles. I am horrified to say that the number 1 single when I was born was the appalling pastiche on a wonderful song - the cold blooded murder of You'll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Pacemakers.

I have to revise my opinion about the profound effect this has clearly had on my life - it obviously was the start of my deep dislike of Liverpool FC!
