Oxford : I was there in 2003, in Abingdon. I found the people very cold and unwelcoming. Also, the lady at the b&b where I was staying almost wouldn't take my cash, because she said I had "foreign currency" with me. I had Scottish pounds notes. D'uh. It was all just awful. I had expected it to be considerably more old-fashioned and it was quite modern. I enjoyed my tour of all the University buildings, however, which was done in a force-10 gale !!
