So, lets get another debate going..... While our saviour is away we're left with Mr Mills, the cheeky chappy. I know he's one to divide opinion.... Lets hear yours...!!!

Seriously were you that short of works at the moment that you felt the need to open an industrial sized can?

I quite like him and feel that too much of a good thing is probably bad for you so he provides a nice alternative once in a while.

There are pros? I know there used to be... I haven't noticed any for a long time though.

His show is an end-of-the-pier disaster. He is the radio equivalent of the ageing comedian in a shiny suit and a hairpiece desperately trying to cling on to his glittering past by telling the same jokes that got a laugh 20 years ago.

And its a terrible shame because there's no need - up until about three years ago his shows were great, then he changed direction, made up a "character" instead of just being himself, got himself a couple of sidekicks (although I don't mind Chappers to be fair) and headed down the road to mediocrity without a backward glance.

I won't be listening for the next couple of weeks.

Ok, but here is an interesting question posed by the Southampton one....

Sex addiction..... Is it a 'proper' illness and should your boss give you time off work for treatment.....??!!

Pros:-

1. He's a genuinely nice guy.
2. He's very lively, enthusiastic, motivated.
3. He's on the ball: very quick.
4. He gives his site unofficialmills a lot of positive mentions.

Cons:-

Sometimes pre-recorded material. If he were ever to gain the slot of Brekkie DJ the entire show would need a re-vamp.

Well said Yuds. I can't think of anything to add. Except that there are no "pro's and con's" but there are pros and cons...

Different styles are a good thing! He's in no way past his sell-by date!

AND, at least he bothers to show up, unlike a few DJ's I could mention at the moment.

You aint seen nothing yet. Mind you, if you class your English as "poor" you should brace yourself for the efforts (or lack thereof) of some of the people (and I use the term loosely) we get in here.

It isn't. Personally I focus more on what someone has to say, rather than all the apostrophes in the right place. Anyhow, time to go. Sara Cox is back, and I'm desperate to hear her. :-)

I like Scott Mills. I see nothing in his show which could cause offense. Chappers is funnier than Dave, just, but not as funny as Dom.

What's there not to like really. He is not as good as Moyles, but he is very good.

As for the site mentions, I think Chapper refers to them as the "geek site" which is about right if the definition of a geek is a 15 year old Pony loving middle class spoiled girl.

With Console and S4 I think here and Aled.info should really qualify in joint first place for that title.

nah, I'm not a teacher. I'm just a bit pernickety about spelling and grammar. But Yuds is correct in that a misplaced apostrophe is nowhere near the worst offence we see here. That said, I suspect that very few of us were unaware of your mistake :D

Haha. Still managed to get me..... Sorry, but in this world of txt speak and spell checkers, I have failed to extend my English language skills.... Made the same point at school, look, I struggle with English, why waste your time trying to teach me French!!! GCSE 'D' was the best I could manage... Re-took at twice, another 'D' and then an 'E', at which point I gave up to focus my efforts on something I vaguely showed tallent in..... Great with numbers, just not words. Can memorise your credit card details in less than 30 seconds, which sounds far more useful in the 'real world' to me than being able to spell....!! :D

So please feel free to mock and correct to your hearts content, I have broad shoulders.

It's really not my intention to mock. I'm well aware that not everyone is such a stickler for language as I am! But you will find that this forum has stricter rules on that than some others - text-speak isn't really allowed, for example. (Not that you've used any so far!) No doubt you could kick my ass on maths problems - I got a D in GCSE maths, and I never resat. I can add up, but nothing I've done since has demanded any more in-depth maths knowledge. So y'know, it's all relative.
