How funny was Andi Peters talking to Chris Moyles this morning. He was chatting to him at the Airport about the new reality TV show, "Celeb Air": this show will follow a group of celebs as they become airline employees.

I loved his almost manic laughter as he was answering Chris! Totally summed it up for me : a new show just so ridiculous all you can do is laugh!! Great stuff.

i watched it. It was a ok programme. Was very funny when they shown the andi peters bit. They dubbed in the show and chris making andi do the chico gag. Couldn't help but laugh out loud again over it. But didn't show the michelle marsh with that gag. Which i thought was a shame.

Viv, you have been moaning about reality TV and its so-called stars and then you go and watch this?! It's you who is beyond belief.

Oh come on Topher - how can you have an opinion - especially a negative one - unless you steep yourself in the muck you are complaining about?

The best thing about celeb air is Chico, and as Ally Ross (The Sun, 5.9.08) said: Chico is far to good for this show! The guy is a natural born entertainer, there is just something about him that you can't help but like! Who do you really remember from the x-factor? Of course Leona, Shane & Chico! People can try to knock him as much as they like, but he is great fun and a great guy! Hope he wins Celeb Air as I know he works so much for Charity and the winer gets to donate the money to there favorite charity.

P.S. What about that Amy Lame? Who the hell is she? She was slaging of her fellow celebs, not a very nice person! Back stabers are vile! I know she can't stand Chris Moyles. She's just a fat shapless lesbian who is so nasty but sees her self as the next Ruby Wax, desperate for her five minute's fame! Hope she goes next!

Those two words invalidate your entire opinion on absolutely everything there is to have an opinion of.

Will Young... that's about it really and he's gone quiet now.

Welcome along, by the way.

Wasn't Will Young on the Olympic after handover party thing outside Buck House?

No, egg for brains, I watched it purely so I could write about it. One episode only. I needed material for my blog.

Can you judge something on one episode only? I would think that's like judging a book on the first chapter alone. Maybe you need a little more research to be able to judge it objectively?

TV shows usually get chosen based purely on the first, or pilot, episode. I think it's fair for the general populace to judge on the same basis.

However when something is obviously as popular as these reality shows is it not worth investigating a little further to see what the possible attraction could be?

I hate Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code but I still read more than the first chapter to work out that it is utter tripe as far as literature goes but does have an interesting story line.

I'm not disagreeing with Viv's opinion - far from it - I just think that to truly understand why there is such interest in these programmes you have to get under the skin of them before you can judge. Maybe it's more to do with why a large proportion of the country finds them amusing/entertaining/interesting rather than what your opinion is after one episode.

Just a thought

Off topic (yay), but I once got into trouble in English class at school for saying virtually that about Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice. The teacher failed to accept that even in "ye olde English" the grammar was shocking.

Actually, with reality shows, I think my above statement is even more true. Reality shows, from my limited experience, tend to be very similar from week to week. It's not like they have a story that grows and moves from arc to arc, with an overhanging arc throughout. It's generally real people/celebrities performing tasks (if that) that don't really change from week to week.

As for the possible attraction, I haven't spent much time thinking about it, but the conclusion I've come to is that people are idiots.

I would have to agree with you Console about people being idiots.

I do find it a little curious that Viv may be against celeb reality shows but seems to be all for Big Brother. Surely the two things are the same? How can you hate one and love the other?

I am pro this year's FINAL of BB only! The outcome was what I wanted, and represents a subject I feel particularly strongly on.

To have an opinion on the final though, surely you must have watched the rest of the series, otherwise how can you have formed an opinion?

Well spotted. I did indeed watch most of the series, largely to see how well she would cope.

So, in other words, you can't be as anti reality shows as you say you are if you watch the longest running one of the year.
