I think it's too early to say that Rooney will be the new Owen, but I'll admit he is looking promising at the moment.

Especially as Owen scored twice at the weekend, proving he's not just good at the media side of things!

yes a very useful comment dr loz. First of all try spelling EVERTON right and secondly to compare rooney to Owen is unfair because as you will see they are different styles of player which hopefully one day will be a great partnership for England......

Loz-

do you mean the senior squad- playing with the likes of Beckham and Heskey?

if he's that good at that age... in 2 years time he'll be older and even better then he is now to steal a place on the squad.. its pretty damn certain... he'll be lucky if he gets

william hill know they could lose quiet alot of money- so they are right to refuse

Rooney is not the next Owen
Rooney is the next Alan Shearer, you can see with Rooneys strengh and his finishing that he is way way closer to Alan Shearer than Michael Owen. Michael Owen is a pace striker where Rooney has skill to hold the ball and turn quickly and shoot like Alan Shearer.

To say Rooney is the next Shearer is even better then saying he's the next Owen.

Yes, i think Owen is slightly overated hes last few matches for England he has been woeful but does score goals, his work rate is nothing to be desired either. Rooney if he stays fit and avoids the temptations of being rich will be better than Owen and Shearer. And hopefully be as important to England as Gary Linekar was in '86

everton fc could be doing something like manchester united did. rooney watch is considered to be on the books for its star 17 year old player. offering £100 to people who spot him.

its rare to see a player barely out of the youth squad that good.. he's only on something like £9,000 a week. not bad.

if you see rooney- he's got the skill to fire a ball from anywhere really. and at that distance- i'm surprised robinson missed that (he reminds me of craig off of big brother)

LOZ- DON'T SLIT THOSE WRISTS. Its okay- i'm giving the good people at the Everton FC Welfare Group, your e-mail address to give you support.

if you thought rooney was good.... check this player out

michael chopra

the sun mentioned this, but i knew about him quiet a while ago. but if i was a manager- i'd be putting in a bid for a player. scoring 90 goals in 84 starts. thats quiet good

I always think of penalties of free goals, and if you miss one you're blind
