Sooo, somebody is missing the point, what with Aled's experiment to prove exactly the opposite... (by the way - there's no mention of that at all in the article.)

I love the fact that they dug that picture out of Chris when he was on Top Gear too, cause it shows with with a can in his hand.

Radio 4 today interviewed the lady who published this report.

What she said was that alcohol "messages" as she called them, which Humphries corrected her and said "mentions" could not linked from this report to people drinking.

" That would be a different set of research entirely"

Humphries quickly worked out this report was a load of tosh, and said absolutely nothing contentious at all when read properly. It's all bollocks really, and just an excuse for them to play the quip Moyles made about him and his "lass" being able to drink Gordon Ramsey and his misses under the table.

Apparently when they analyzed the show out of 210 minutes of the show, alcohol was discussed for 74 seconds.

Was odd hearing Moyles on the today program though !

Well, Gordon Ramsay is a lightweight, we all know that.

Its all to do with the fact that he was saying that its good because Aled lost weight because of drinking more I think. But I'm not sure it was probably that and other things.

Chris seems to talk a lot more about running on his treadmill than about drinking these days anyway! But I guess "Roly-poly DJ encourages jogging" doesn't make such a good headline.

I think they chose the right time to publish this report though. Wait until the most high profile target of their research is away on holiday so he can't retaliate!

This should be written in letters six feet high and painted in neon colours and displayed in a prominent public place. And the person who produced that report should actually read it.

Chris will have something to say about this when he gets back I'm sure. He has done nothing wrong and if he had he would have already said sorry and got wrong from BBC.

If they think Moyles talks about drinking too much, they should give Wogan a listen. In fact he too was saying this morning that the report was rubbish and he frequently drives his listeners to drink. :D

Yeah, just coz we like pub-based humour on the radio doesn't mean to say we're all piss'eads!

And that would be none of the Media's business anyway! *Hic*

During Eurovision. Although, to watch that all night you really need to have a drink in you.

Oh no, now I'm encouraging it.

Yes - and also his breakfast show. The other day he was saying how much he fancied a Gin and Tonic right now (at about 7:45 am)

I'd say that was fairly good proof that this report is just an excuse to have a dig at Chris Moyles then. I mean, would a decent report really have missed out on the most listened to radio programme on the most listened to radio station? They didn't miss the second...

Moyles is an easy target, with his 'lager lout' image (something I still fail to see). So many people seem to hate him - whilst Wogan is probably one of the nation's favorite people (just behind Steven Fry I'd imagine).

He is an easy target. See my thoughts at: Moyles In Booze Shocker
