I like my HD telly. But I really should get an HD source at some point to make the most of it. I bought it for Euro 2008 so I could watch it in 40"ness instead of 26"ness. Oh aye, and the fantastic 100Hzness.

I'm thinking I'll get a PS3 before HD Sky.

Someone has said this before, but the BBC outputs some real shit... however, certain programmes and coverage make the license fee worth paying on their own; Planet Earth is one of them. The Olympics coverage was another.

I preferred The Blue Planet to Planet Earth. And Life On Earth was better too.

They are on my list to watch (I've seen one episode of The Blue Planet and that was great), but I think it's fair to say that those programmes in general are each worth the license fee.

Life On Earth was the original and best - but yes, they're all good.

I was the someone.

From a visual point of view, Planet Earth is unrivalled for that type of programme.

In defence of the BBC, even on SD their picture quality for Euro 2008 was fantastic when compared to ITV.

I have to agree that there output some amount of shit, but every so often you get cracking stuff that makes it all worthwhile.
