The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

in the evening standard lite yesterday it said chris has bought les dennis's old house in highgate for 2 million. as the newspaper said, it is about time he moved out of his flat into a bigger home given the money he's earning.

moving shouldn't be too much trouble, as it's only around the corner from where he currently lives.

Why is Greg James moving to a hostel?!

he's currently "homeless". He cannot move into his new flat until October. So, it's a hostel, or back with his parents.

Oh I can't believe he hasn't got someone who will let him bunk in their spare room. He's doing a Mills.

Well, technically it's either a hotel or back to the parents. They found out this morning though that there was a 'BBC hostel' that BBC employees can stay in if they're in need of a place to stay.

He couldn't stand living with producer Neil.

The BBC, it seems, have a hostel. Carrie was in it once temporarily.

If the only alternative option is to be homeless, I'm sure he wouldn't give it a second thought. He's making a big thing out of nothing for his show. (Or, as Yudster put it, 'doing a Mills'.)

That is indeed exactly what I meant.

Of course - but it wouldn't have made much of a handover link.

Why does it need to be a link at all? Chris has bought Les Dennis's house, and he hasn't said a word about it on the show. Oh, hang on........

That's probably a question only Greg can answer.

Yes, taken out of context like that I expect you're right. However if you put it back in the context of what I actually said, you'll see that it was in fact a rhetorical question ultimately.

Why does anyone care if he is moving house? Surely it's the quality of his broadcasting we care about not where he lives?!!

I will miss the leaky conservatory though.

Why does him earning a particular amount of money make him have to move to a bigger house?

I think there was a slight slip up on the show today about this - Chris was talking to Whiley who was in Snow Patrols house. Chris asked where the house was and Jo said - 'Its not far from where you used to live'. Chris went quiet for a split second then said, a little awkwardly -'I still live there'. Jo then went quiet then said 'Oh, I see'...
It sounded very awkward, have a listen - it was about 9.20 this morning

Maybe because he can now afford a bigger house? just putting it out there...
