I am getting bored with the Mel B standard "punch your lights out" approach to everything.

Is that a bad thing then?

I think its possible to make that observation without it being a value judgement.

Oh I know that, it just seemed to come across quite negative. That's just how I read it anywho.

Vivienne wrote:Well, let's see, I guess it depends your point of view.

Whilst some people like George Clooney, for example - I don't.

Right ok. I think that answered my question, I'm not sure.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I definitely wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her.

Actually, I did mean it in a quite negative fashion. I don't like unfemininity. Others, I'm sure, love it.

Fair enough. I'm the same but for the opposite. I can't stand stupid girls who act on their stupidity because they think it's cute. Paris Hilton for example; I'd happily give her a slap.

So it's not possible for a person to be both feminine and smart?

Oh god no, I didn't mean that - I just couldn't think of a better way to describe them.
Basically, I can't stand those types of preppy little girls (usually drowning in make up) who act stupid for no reason (when they're actually quite smart) because it either looks cute or it attracts guys. My sister's friends are a fine example. I once had a really good conversation with one of them at my mums house about something on the news; and she was really down to earth and bloody smart - however as soon as we were around some blokes at a party - she turned into a thick, dozy tart. It just really annoys me. Especially as I think guys would respect them a bit more if they didn't act so dozy.

I didn't think I said that, I had to scroll up to see what I actually did write.

The Sun would be proud of you.

I hate to burst your bubble, but they are actually smart. They just know how to be smart at the right moments, and how to be glam at the right moments.

But that's my point. Why is there a need to act dumb? You should be smart AND glam at the same time. What's the point in "acting" dumb when you're actually quite smart?

Yudster wrote:What, all of them? Wow!

Exactly. I'm sure there are girls out there that are actually plain stupid. Not all of them are putting it on - trust me.

Viv says: Because there are certain situations where you can make it work to your advantage. :) Appearing not that smart means that when push comes to shove, you can come in and absolutely astonish people who thought you were just "there" really. ;-)

That's very true. I like it when it's worked that way, however I do still wish some women would do both more often. They could make themselves look so much better.

Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, etc. are fine examples.
