Phil Daniels was the most cringeworthy. Austin was probably the best - but the one I enjoyed most was the political correspondant blokey, John - he actually really looked like he wanted to be there - the others all had the "rabbit in the headlights" thing to some degree.

I have a feeling though that Vincente and Rachel are going to walk away with it this year. I hope there's a bit of competition for them.

Hope so. Look at last year - the blokes were all hopeless at the beginning, but there were two men in the final three, so they did well in the end. Although had that awful Kate Garraway gone out when she should have things might have been different - several good people got booted as a result of her being kept in.

Anyway, I'm just glad its started.

I might be getting Len Goodman for a signing! I love Austin Healey so I might actually watch some of this, never watched it before.

Austin was amazing, though I feel sorry for Gary, I didn't think he was the worst.

It's not my cup o' tea. I feel it's outlived its time. And Brendan Cole does my head in. Sorry!

I've never really watched it, mainly because it runs for ages and I don't want to get into watching something that runs for that long. I do think if I were a celebrity (and I absolutely have no wish to be one) and I were invited on, it'd be quite fun.

I suspect that if I started watching Dancing on Ice I might quite like it - but I've never really fancied it so I've avoided it so far.

I had to sit through about 20 mins of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday while we were getting ready to go out (she had it on in the bedroom) I was bored watching it and I really didn't like the judges, I thought they were all up their own arse snobs.

Now that I can't disagree with.

Surely that's true with all shows that involve judging these days? Maybe not in terms of snobbery, but in terms of the fact that you are not supposed to like them.

I expect so.

I agree. SCD is just like the X-Factor, where we just have to have the Simon Cowell types, etc. I guess it detracts from the fact the Shows really aren't that wonderful.

I very rarely watch the xfactor but I think Simon Cowell is the only decent mean judge on TV. He is only mean to people who are shit and tells them not to waste anymore of their time on singing. He is there to find people to make him more money after all.

I don't watch xfactor or any non-BBC type "talent" shows, but I have watched the BBC Lloyd Webber casting shows, and also Last Choir Standing. The judges on the Lloyd Webber shows are fine it seems to me - professional and realistic without resorting to shock tactics. The judges on Last Choir were trying a bit too hard I thought - and the Strictly judges are just there for comedy value, surely?

The best judges on TV must be the Dragons.
