The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Hmmm.... I've thought about this before, quite how long he can survive with the target audience.... Although saying that, they still use Jo Whiley, and she's nearly 70! :D

Would like to think Chris still has a few more years at Radio 1 in him, and then on the back of that I would hope he stays broadcasting to all his millions of fans, from whatever country. Although I feel his show would slowly loose relevance to us brits if he set up base elsewhere...

No it's not. It comes up all the time and it got tedious long ago.
Well it's topical AGAIN, Moyles mentioning it this morning and all!

It's not really tedious at all. One of these days, it is going to happen. :-)

It is, and I wondered if the discussion this morning might have been significant too. But there's no real point in speculating - the only person who has an informed opinion on it is Chris Moyles, and until he decides to share, we're all as much in the dark as each other.

December 2010. They will all start settling down and that will be that. Don't know if the Americans would get Moyles brand of humour....they being used to such poor standards on that side of the pond:D
An evening show on Virgin/Absolute might be on the cards. Radio 2 cant be ruled out either. Who could have pictured Chris Evans in the evening hotseat a few years ago for instance. Stranger things have happened!

Sounds like a new species of butterfly.

You may not be too far off he certainly would want to keep going until then so he can break Tony Blackburn's record for the longest running R1's breakfast show. He asked Simon Mayo last year did he think they'd break the record and Simon said 'almost certainly', so it's in this thinking.

It's only approx. 2 years away and although there's been that big dip in ratings unless they continue to fall at that rate (unlikely) I can't see Ben Cooper/Andy Parfitt firing/moving him before then. Although what would happen if one/both of them were to leave...Parf Daddy was meant to be in the running for Jenny Abramsky's job before Tim Davie got it.

According to dates i've found, Tony Blackburn's record is 5 years 8 months - as Chris has been going more than 4 years 8 months I would put the overtaking date at around 06/09/2009.

If you're going to get official about it, surely you can't measure by calendar months, since they are either 28, 29, 30 or 31 days long. I reckon you'd need number of shows to do it properly (obviously the difference is negligible, but as I said, you need to be official.)
