Remember who you are talking to though Console - the person whose preparation for an interview is -

So if you are in fact acting Dumb, Viv, do you think it's one of those things you've been doing for so long that you can't remember how to be intelligent?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. I was genuinely starting to think that I was in the wrong to think that women who act dumb are just as stupid as the women who genuinely are dumb.

That would be because they are the same women.

Come on guys we all have done something similar haven't we ?

When it comes to trying to get out of something, do it badly then you won't be asked again, Mrs Boboff makes a real fuss when changing her tyre, and guess what, I then offer to do it, she's not acting dumb, just unskilled in a job she knows I am better at than her, and therefore it's clever.

See ?

Very true. My mistake.

But if she knows you are better at it than her, and you know that you are better at it than her, why can't she just ask you to do it in the first place? Why the need to play the silly games?

It's rooted in a basic insecurity, and belief of equality, and when I do it, it's because I am inherently a lazy bastard.

Yes you are right, sensible thing is to ask, but we are all human, and we all do things that are a bit strange.

I think many women have the idea that acting intelligent will deter men - that men want to be the alpha male and need to protect the silly little woman who can't cope with the world on her own. I'm not saying men actually do think that, but I think that's the impression some girls have. I'm not quite sure why...

I'm not actually capable of being dumb like that - I do stupid things at times, but I find it very difficult to act that way. There's no real way of phrasing that without sounding arrogant, but I think I'm reasonably intelligent generally, and to pretend otherwise just seems pointless. I think that intimidates men sometimes, especially coupled with the way I look - but hey ho.

I think you're right there. I do silly things - but I definitely don't do them on purpose.

To be honest; if a girl is going for a guy that is intimidated by an intelligent girl then that girl is going for the wrong guy! I think it's obsurd to think that you need to change the way you act just to "pull", unless you sacrifice goats that is.
