I read a couple of the Flemming novels. In the books Bond seems a pretty fierce character.

Daniel Craig for me captures that esscence in a way that fits our modern times. I think Connery also did given the context of his Bond era and showed the hardness aspect of the character. Of course mixed in with the innuendo..."Pussy Galore..? I must be dreaming!"

Much as I loved the jokes and the 'kill you in an amusing way' Bond style; I'm refreshed by the new look approach!
