What? I mentioned it twice!

The best bit was them laying on strong R Waynes sob story, so that his grans picture was in the back ground whenever he sang.
And the medleys were genius!

I loved it, there were so many funny moments but I especially liked Cat Deeley's "I'm walking to the stage now...I'm walking...I'm here" and Geraldine's comment on her nervousness "I was ****ing a brick!"

I loved the fact that it turned into a freak show based soley around who had the saddest story, the hardest emotional journey. They couldn't sing for toffee in the auditions then they hit it with a bit of studio magic and they've all got passable voices.

See, this could equally apply to the "real" X-Factor couldn't it?

Well, if the Mum Wants a Bungalow tour was anything to go by, they'll probably release the same programme on three different DVDs.

Indeed. Why is Daniel still there again?

I too love the song Boboff. I had it in my head all day Monday.

Programme was very good although I don't think I watch enough of these reality things to get all the jokes.

I think they could have used "Still to come" more often. Also I watched it back yesterday and noticed the bit where Cat said to one of the women in the wheelchairs "I'm sure you'll walk it". It had me in stitches.

From the quote i just posted in the other forum:

Comedian Peter Kay will be back with a follow-up to his talent show spoof Britain's Got the Pop Factor and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar on Ice.

No comment as to when, but I have a feeling it might be around Christmas - in time for the X Factor final...

Geraldine is releasing a Christmas single as well.

Every year I hope against hope that there will be a backlash of people who are fed up to the back teeth with Simon Cowell having stolen Christmas, like the musical Grinch he is, and actually make something else other than the generic interchangeable X-Factor power-ballad number 1. But Geraldine would be almost as bad.

Why?

It is exactly what you said you wanted? Someone who is able to fight Cowell off the top spot - would there be any better poll of the people than someone totally ripping the piss out him?

It will never happen, but it bloody well should. I might even BUY the single if it comes out!

The charts are irrelevant nowadays anyway.

Because in its own way its just as cynical and soulless as the real thing. As Topher said, the charts are irrelevant these days - and Simon Cowell is one of the reasons for that. Peter Kay cashing in doesn't make it any better really.

It is pretty much the exact opposite of X Factor though. And about the only way the public would be able to get one over on Cowell. Any single 'act' wouldn't stand a chance now - they need the backing of a TV programme to promote it.

If the charts are irelevant - why are we having this conversation? And what replaces the charts?

Yudster wrote:Peter Kay cashing in doesn't make it any better really.

Ah yea - I forgot that Westlife, Cliff Richard and everyone else donated the pennies to help the poor orphan children...

The charts are irrelevant. It used to be that people would discuss the current number one, that you would go out and buy something you wanted to be number one based on the merit of the song. I remember being genuinely pissed off that The Fugees were number one yet again. I never, ever know what's number one now. The fact that it's pretty much a given that the Christmas number one will be the X-Factor single is a sad indictment of the charts now.

foot-loose wrote:And what replaces the charts?

Nothing - you like a song, you download it - or the album. You generally don't find out where it gets to (I don't anyway).

That isn't a very good answer though.

But the Christmas number one was always a different kettle of chips. People show an interest in that.
