Be interesting to see if he raids his old club for players in the transfer window - there are rumours about Pompey being a bit skint at the moment.

In other news, *' have that Terry you elbowing twat.

Can't argue with that. I'm no Liverpool fan but Chelsea are probably the only team in the Premiership which I actively dislike, so that was nice.

I hear this morning that David Beckham may be going full circle in his career and coming on loan to Spurs - that would have a kind of poetry about it, it appeals to my sentimental side. I wonder if he will do what he used to do as a kid at Spurs and turn up for training in a United kit?!

Not beyond the realms of possibility that Crouch could end up back there as well!

Oh well Pompey will start selling players and we'll end up on the bloody scrap heap. If not this season we'll go down next.

Look on the plus side. It's the only way you'll get to play Southampton again.

I don't want to be anywhere near the scum. Even in the same league as them. Although by the looks of things they'll be lucky not to go down as well this season.

Don't you take some perverse pleasure from gubbing them though? For all I would love to see Rangers fold, get relegated or otherwise spontaneously combust, I'm sure I'd miss the occasions when we stuff them.

Same with me and spurs - i'd rather see them struggle in the prem than see them in the championship.

Then again, watching them spend all their money on awful players and changing managers is fun too :)

Nope. I'd rather they were languishing in the Doctor Martins League (or whatever it's called now) while we were languishing in the Championship (bloody Division 2 do you hear me?) we'll be back there soon enough unless we get a great manager.

I'm not mad at Harry cos it's not as if he left us in the lurch but I'm sure he said Pompey was gonna be his last job before he retired.

Who's the smart money on then to replace him?

Tony Adams, No doubt - he's ready for a position, and the worst that could happen is that he'll get sacked and you'll find someone else.

I think he's got the grit and character to keep you mid table this season

I hear there's a two-time UEFA Cup winning manager on the look for a job...

Is it just me, or are the officials in the Champions League getting worse? A few weeks ago we suffered from Berbatov scoring two goals from an offside position. Playing the European Champions in their back yard is hard enough with the ridiculous gap in money these days, but them getting decisions like that just make it impossible.

Then last night I watched FOUR penalty decisions in the second half of the Liverpool game go the wrong way. A handball in the Atletico Madrid penalty area and nothing was given. Two handballs in the Liverpool penalty area, nothing given. Steven Gerrard jumps in where he shouldn't (technically a foul against Gerrard but that might have been harsh) and he gets a penalty for it!

As if those shocking decisions weren't bad enough, I then watch the highlights from the Chelsea game to see Deco get a second yellow card for taking a free kick quickly!

I used to think shit referees were a Scottish thing. I'm starting to see it's spread Europe-wide. I dread to think what kind of idiot we'll get tonight.

Actually, there was a foul on Agger early on in the first half as well. As for the two Atletico shouts for handball, Carragher's was about as clear a definition of "ball to hand" as you're likely to see and as the law states that it has to be deliberate, it wasn't a penalty - same with Mascherano, the ball hit him after he made a challenge. The pen that was given was soft and Gerrard certainly made the most of it but it evened out the Perea handball that wasn't given.

Apparently it's legal to kick out at players and dive about the park if you're up for World Player of the Year. I must have missed that addition to the laws of the game, eh Cristiano?

And then the bastard was on the park to hit the swerving shot that Boruc saved and Giggs knocked in. Robbed.

Watching Arsenal tonight, i'm so happy that Wenger keeps churning out these young squads full of promise. It doesn't feel as good as winning a trophy, but it makes up for the lack of big signings, every time a star is born it's like a massive signing. On tonight's performance it looks like Simpson, Vela, Wilshere and Ramsey will definitely be on the first team. And vela's goal...wow.

Losing to hull and stoke - and drawing against spurs was horrible, but watching these young'uns play makes me smile.

And i just hope we can keep onto these boys, and that they don't grow into prima donna's a'la David Bentley

I've always respected the way Wenger plays the boys in the diddy cup, no matter what. More so when they made the final a couple of seasons ago and still played them. It would have been easy to put the first team on to play Chelsea in that situation but he stood firm.

I said it when he took the job, if anyone can stop the Premiership monopoly of the big four, it's Martin O'Neill.

Such a shocking performance today. Credit to Villa, capitilised on it (with some dodgy ref decisions). No attacking flair, only Walcott had the balls to play today but was in vain with no support up there.

Bendtner CANNOT start the next game.
