Seems another 'what can comedians say and what can't they say' cycle has sprung up. They come around every so often, and lead to debates about what counts as 'offensive' and what counts as 'edgy'.

They usually fade away after a few weeks, once the media finds some new mind-numbing slurry to feed the masses.

We could always try to fabricate some new topics for the media to rabble-rouse with. Suggestions?

As Charlie Brooker put it - these people get the best adrenaline rush from having Ofcom on speed dial.
When the Shilpa Shetty orgy occured, Ofcom were fast-tracking complaints via their website, imagine being one of these people "Woo! I'm gonna clicky that button!!" The biggest thrill comes from complaining for them, its the highlight of their friiicckkiinn lives. To be outraged is to feel alive, all that negative energy.

These people must be rounded up (as with traffic wardens) and sent far far away to a rubbish island or someplace where they shall be forced to scavenge amongst our waste, its a brilliantly environmentally friendly option - and it will teach them there really is more to life than the apparent 'thrill' of being offended.

OfCom should just have a button on it's website that just says:

"Click here to complain about the BBC"

Question is will Moyles say anything about it this time or will he keep quiet for fear of losing his job. It's a tough choice, defend something you truly believe in in defence of something which is painfully ridiculous or stick your head above the parapet and risk getting taken down yourself?

Well I've highlighted in my sig that you can either feed the bandwagon by merely commenting on it, or you can create a positive vibe during your show and win the respect and praise of your audience - I think thats very effective, it diverts from the people who are quick to put down the Beeb but won't come up with solutions on how to make the corporation better, and instead shows that there is love out there - so long as you help create that vibe, unlike newspapers who play to people's fears..an awful culture of fear-mongering, a dreaded cycle of hate and I think Moyles was right not to buy into that.

Oh for god's sake this is all getting out of hand now. I am fed up to the back teeth of the flipping PC brigade. This is making me angry now!

Here we go again, the Daily Heil obviously haven't got any real news to report. If some of these people watched Top Gear week in week out they'd know the tone of the show, remember the hoo-har over the smoking of pipes on screen FFS

Thing is with the Daily Heil is they hate the BBC & the whole Licence Fee issue but could you imagine the alternative if the Licence Fee was scrapped? BBC would essentially become ITV & ITV would become an even bigger pile of sh*te than it is now, I know that's hard to believe but it would happend

How dare you insult the PC brigade. They have as much right as anybody else you know. I shall be reporting this post and urging all other board members to boycott your posts!

I shall also be writing a letter to my MP and to the lead singer of Echo And The Bunnymen.

Everybody knows Jeremy Clarkson is controversial, I don't see the problem with this one.

I'm surprised the BBC are allowed to show it when there have been complaints though.

What exactly were the complaints?

"Dear BBC,

I would like to complain about the joke made by Jeremy Clarkson on Sunday night's episode of Top Gear. In the episode in question, Mr Clarkson made reference to the job that a lorry driver does. He suggested that all they do is change gear, check their mirror and murder prostitutes. As a lorry driver myself, I find this highly offensive. I never use my mirrors."

To be honest it's just another case of BBC bashing, it's the season for it. Afterall the tabloids & broadsheets have probably got bored with reporting on the credit crisis (sp) at the moment that they've decided to make an issue out of bugger all

Goodness sake, this is all silly.

60 prostitutes have been murdered in the last 10 years?!

That's pretty good odds, i'm sure that more than 500 women who work in offices have been murdered in the last 10 years

Oh FFS, why don't these people stop whinging and deal with the real issues in their constituancies (sp)

What gets me is people are moaning about a few words, yet the full disembowlement of people in Dead Set was fine* & don't say it's because of the time it was on because we all know there are certain parents don't give a toss what their kids watch

*Must point out that I thought Dead Set was great but if I was a moaning ninny I'd be complaing more about the violence in this than a poxy throwaway sentence

Time to bring back Brasseye, it was so ahead of it's time, dealing with the Media's overreactions. They should call the one-off special 'Complainageddon'.

"Damn my day has started badly ..... Lets take it out on someone, ah why not the daily mail."

Sorry to any people who actually read the Daily Mail on this forum (If there is anyone who bothers to read it), but I hate the Mail. Mainly because it is so obvious, that the Daily Mail is trying to discredit the BBC at every opportunity.

"Ohh my god the BBC reporters are wearing a BRAND of COAT!!"
"Quick get me my typewriter, the public need to know this"
Source : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-510460/Why-BBC-reporters-wearing-The-North-Face-anoraks.html

On the topic of politicians getting involved they don’t really need too in my opinion, just get on and run the country.
(If you haven’t guessed I think this is all ridiculous.) Bash the BBC all you like its a national treasure.

Just my opinions, I am sure if someone doesn’t agree I will hear from them :). Rant Over.
