Hi guy's

I'm from Australia working for a company that dont allow me to listen at work via the Listen Live option from the BBC website.
I cant get Siruis radio either....

Is there any other way I can listen to the Chris Moyles program, a few years ago we used ot be able to actually download the full show but I cant seem to do that anymore....at the moment all I can do is listen to the itune weekly podcast....

I would much apprecite it if someone could let me know if there is a way to download the full program...

What I do is play listen again at home in the evening & record it while playing, using Audacity (free to download)

Then I export the file as a .wav & put it on a memory stick to take to work.

A bit of a faff, I know, but worth it!

A bloody wav file? The whole show? Do you need a support harness to carry your memory stick? Hmm Audacity is a multi track programme isn't it. Wonder if I can use Audition to do the same?

If you're using audacity to record a three and a half hour radio show, why not take an extra couple of minutes and export it as an MP3?

Actually, at 192kbps (well, a bit off as it's a 65kbps) it'd only be 150 MB. You can easily fit in a whole month worth of shows on a iPod with no problem and the quality is good.

WAV files are uncompressed audio files - as an MP3 the shows would be in the 100-200MB range. Actually, at 128kbps (Stereo, 44100 Hertz), my shows come in at 220602199 Bytes (about 211MB).

I have mine set as MP3, VBR, 128kbps, Joint Studio, and my Sample Rate is set to Auto, but I'm using Audio Hijack.

I did have flashget for about a week but I didn't really like it, every time I tried to download something it'd bloody open up plus it complete screwed up the one recording I did, it ended up skipping every 3-4 mins for about 10 seconds, like if a CD skips quickly when there's dirt on the cd

I really like Flashget, just don't allow it to be your download programme for everything when you're installing (i.e. be careful which boxes you leave ticked during install). I only use it for P2P downloads, or for downloading moyles. I don't think the skipping can be attributed to Flashget (although I may be wrong).

Where does one find the .ra files in the first place? There are the links in the Sound bit on the forum but surely they are just links rather than files...

Audacity won't export directly as an MP3, I tried it already. You have to use a separate decoder & I couldn't be bothered to download it.

The file size is actually 1 GB, no problem for my 4 GB memory stick!

So you can just right click and "Save target" or whatever it comes up with. In which case why does one need Flashget?

That'd be due to the fact that browsers can't handle RTSP. If the .ra files were on an HTTP server, then you could 'Save Target As' just fine. Streaming protocols are handled by streaming clients.

Sorry for being dense but I'm running out of space on my HD and don't really relish the thought of adding another app to it......however I will if I can DL the shows then.

I don't think it'll integrate like that with your browser, but it'll probably set-up an external URL handler for rtsp so that when you click on a link to an .rm file on an RTSP server it'll activate and start downloading it. Saying that, though, I've never used it, so I don't know - you may have to copy the link and paste it into FlashGet.

I keep a simple text document with the RTSP links in for the Moyles shows, is there a quicker way to find out the RTSP link from a streaming source Console? Whenever I copy the RTSP link, I open up Flashget and don't need to paste, it just appears by the way.
