Leave what alone? Why is him having a negative / postive or whatever opinion on something an example of him being a prick? As far as I am led to believe, the X-Factor works on a vote basis. People watch some of the shitty acts, then phone up and waste their money trying to make some daft celebrity wannabes a superstar (for Christmas).

At the end of the day, X-Factor is a gimmick and money making machine. How many winners of X-Factor/Pop Stars etc are still around today??? Just 2.

These people dont have careers, if they had a career they wouldnt need to go on.Only one will win, and chances are they will disappear after one album. If they are that good,they would have made it without the show.
Also, these people are SINGERS. They do not write music, they do not write lyrics, they are merely puppets with other people pulling their strings to make them money, and this is why no-one should take these shows seriously. Those that do are playing with peoples dreams themselves.

Will Young did ok for himself but he's hardly a star is he? Hear'Say had about 3 songs and it's too early to tell with the guy who won last year but he got beat by a parody. The only one's who've done well out of it is Leona but she's only had one song so far and Girls Aloud who were basically filling the vacum left by the Spice Girls. If it wasn't them it would have been someone else.

The only real winner in all this is Simon Cowell. He tells the judges which way to vote and is in the business of making good tele not making a new star. He makes more money from phone votes than he will from sales. It's more entertaining when the dead certs get dropped. I mean even Same Difference have got a record deal from Simon Cowell. It's not about the music it's about good tele.

Exactly, if anyone is messing with people it's the TV show itself, it's bad enough being turned down when you go to get a record contract on your own, let alone having it done infront of millions of people.

If the guy/girl who started this topic really gave a dam about these people's 'careers and dreams', they would avoid the show at all costs. They obviously care about these 'stars' feelings, so much that they watch a tv show that lives on people failing and having their dreams smashed to bits to by a phone vote, in front of a whole nation.

In my opinion, the TV show isn't really doing anything wrong. It is a business and is there to make money. It makes money by giving the viewers what they want to see. Frankly, the contestants are the producers playthings to entertain the public - either by being sympathetic to them, or by trashing them.

I would have more sympathy for the contestants if it was the first time there had been a show like this but there are hundreds of them everywhere. People know what they are getting into, they know that the papers will be full of headlines about them - good or bad.

If it doesn't go the way you wanted, tough shit mate.

But what Chris did is no different to when the last 3 go to their hometowns, and their families are getting people to vote for them by wearing t-shirts and giving out flyers just because they are local, not whether they are the best.
I guess some people have no life and X-Factor is of some importance to them.

oh try being a bit more naive! yeah ok i admit it - i watch the X factor. it's entertaining enough watching the repeats on a sunday afternoon and all but DANIEL? are you serious? he's in his 40s for goodness sake - he needs to realise he is not going to win and he's only there cos he has his sob story and the producers can play the sad music when he talks about his family blah blah blah. but at the end of the day whoever they want to win will win - the judges compliment them and the producers spend more on their performances and their set - it's all * psychological. messing with the viewers' minds to manipulate them into voting for the winner and annoying people by getting rid of some of the good ones near the beginning so that people watch it and see where it goes. whoever cowell wants HE GETS.

now, about chris moyles - he's a bloody legend and he expresses his opinion about everything. get over it! this is hardly daniel's CAREER and x factor are getting so much free advertisement from him - no such thing as bad press and all that. and daniel's obviously left his job to be on bloody x factor.

these * tv shows are all a joke - there's no decent telly around these days; everything is a flippin documentary or competition. reality tv is starting to get right on my nerves - there's nothing in tv for actors these days except soaps. grrr.

anyway - the point is diana or alex will probably win and daniel is just making up the numbers love, if you dont like chris he probably wants you to bugger off and listen to local radio. unlucky - local radio SUCKSSS.

Everyone has a sob story, you don't get on the show unless you have a sob story these days.

Same Difference were that creepy brother and sister duo from last year, apparently they are going to perform their new single on X factor at some point. I only know this cos I listend to Local radio when I went down for my mates wedding last weekend and they were on it.

Seriously though there are loads of people who have half decent voices out there, it's not about the singing ( although it helps), it's about making good tele.

As Andy B said earlier (I think), there has only been one winner of any of these programmes, and that is Simon Cowell. As a "search for a star" type contest, HE certainly doesn't take it seriously - I'm astonished anyone else does. The fact that one or two acts who have come out of them have had a measure of success is just gravy for him.
