Seconded... we're not even half way through December. Christmas trees should be put up no earlier than 15th December.

Noo, whats the point in that? All the shops put the pssing things up, and the big fat Santa in the centre of Manchester is most impressive, 1st December is fine, not a day before.

That's a fortnight too early. 15th December at the earliest and down by 2nd January at the latest.

Christmas should be confined to two and a half weeks as an absolute maximum (I'm not talking about your Christmas shopping, but your Christmas celebrations - obviously some people buy Christmas presents through the year, which is entirely different.)

Depends on your definition of Christmas really. For me, it starts with Advent, and has absolutely nothing to do with trees or tinsel (although I love those things too).

Well, that is true. To me Christmas also has nothing to do with trees and tinsel, but it's a time for friends and family (well, the family you get on with).

I do agree about the decorations bit though - I get the tree done the weekend before Christmas, so its there for a maximum of a week before Christmas - and its usually gone just after New Year. Much as I love it, thats enough for me.

Being male I always buy a tree which is far too large! I can only just fit it in the car, and it takes over most of the lounge. I must show some restraint this year, actually I think for the first time in years we may have a fake tree if the Mrs has anything to do with it!

Real trees are messy and leave pins all over the place.

I can't see the point of a fake tree. But then I don't like fake anything really. If I couldn't have a real one I wouldn't bother with a tree.

I can't be bothered with Christmas. Only reason I have a tree at all is that my missus insists on it. It's a 1' high one with fiber optics. That's still too much for me really.
