I had the misfortune to catch five minutes of Points of View the other day - I can't even remember the trivia that people were complaining about, but its the tone of the letters that is so stereotypically Daily Mail that astonished me. Its like there's a standard template for a complaint-to-the-BBC letter, and all correspondants must use it. I feel quite sorry for the poor old Beeb, being fored to broadcast a programme solely dedicated to trashing itself for no real reason at all.

Last time I watched Points of View though, Wogan just seemed to take the piss out of the correspondence, in the same way (if slightly more subtle) he takes the piss out of Eurovision.

Oh Wogan is no more - its Jeremy Vine now (who I always get muddled up with Jeremy Kyle, and as a result end up avoiding most programmes he is on).

That doesn't cause him a problem on Eggheads.

However, on Newsnight, that may well cause a problem, but then anyone following Paxman on that programme is going to have a difficult job.

I've never heard of Eggheads and I dont think Ive seen him on Newsnight. I have heard him on his Radio Two show where he tends to be very argumentative and basically make things up that the people he has talked to have said.

I mind he did an interview about religion and he had a figure head from the muslim and the christian communities and he basically sat and provoked them. They had to correct him several times.
